Hi!
I really hope someone can help me make sense of this.
I have someone making some yorkshire puddings using Sainsbury's Batter Mix. The problem I'm having is that their nutritional info is really not helpful in terms of measurements.
The pack contains 128 grammes of powdered mix. You add 200ml of water and 1 egg to make the batter mix for Yorkshire puddings. 300ml of water if you want to make pancakes.
On the back it says:
Typical values prepared as 'pancake'. Per 100g - Cal 135kcal. Sat Fat 0.5g.
Now is this making the assumption on the weight of the product once it is liquid and no longer powder? Would the only way I could figure out what that 100g is, is by making it the mix and then weighing it??
I know that when used for yorkshire puds, the entire batter mix will make 12 puds.
It seems odd it would give measurements in g once it has become a liquid. However if the whole pack is 128g, I really doubt the 100g refers to powdered weight, and if it did, it wouldn't take into account the egg?
