sw or ww

I need help Im torn between which one to do pro's and con's plz

Personally for me I like that SW is a healthier plan for me. There is a long list of healthy wholefoods and I base all my meals around them and all the healthy extras and syns are added in with loads of veg fruit pasta rice.

On ww I was so point obsessed and would rather spend my points on processed quick food rather then weight out pasta and potatoes.

i have done both and so much prefer slimming world. It is more of a lifestyle choice than w/w as i dont feel like i am on a diet. i eat more healthy now than i ever have and even my daughter is eating more healthier things as a result.

It fits in well with family life aswell.

Im tending to think sw as ww I will rather point for convenience as you say citygirl but I have been on cambridge plan so the thought of all those carbs scare me lol

I have started online on tues and I have to say its the best I have done on anything my mum did ww and has put weight back on its a change for life sw not a diet as my friend has said to me which is sooo ture

I did WW back in 2000 and it workd for me then - but when I regained all my weight, and more, I decided to try SW on the recommendation of a friend who seemed to be eating huge platefuls of food in the canteen at work, and yet she was losing shed-loads of weight! I questioned her about it and went to the club. Once I got my head around it, I was losing weight like there was no tomorrow, without feeling hungry or deprived. I lost 5 stones in 14 months.

Unfortunately for me, I grew complacent and thought I could carry on on my own... not so, and here I am a few years down the line and regained all that weight, and more. But I have rejoined, I'm in the right mindset and I'm enjoying my food again. And when I listen to another colleague talking about "saving" her WW points throughout the day to "spend" on a steak that evening, I feel quite chuffed that I don't have to do that and can have a steak anyway - two, if I want!

:)

i did ww for 2 weeks and i did lose but my eating habits were all over the place. i found it difficult to eat all of my points and the consultant told me that i had to have all of them so i found myself having chocolate and crisps in the evening when i wasnt even hungry just to get my points in. sw is definatly the way for me

Mine was similar, cos Im so huge I had 59 points and it was seriously impossible to eat them all. I got through about 30 a week, which is what they set for 'normal' overweight people. I just stuck to the SW diet in the end so I crossed over anyway

I personally couldn't bear working out points . I know you have to work out syns on SW but to me SW seems the more healthy diet long term and a way of life thats easy to get used to. I also became point obsessed, and used my points on crisps and choccie, whereas for some reason doing SW I am rarely hungry so don't tend to feel the need to all the time, just occassionally if that makes any sense at all

Hi
A lot of people ask this question and if it's on the SW board everyone is likely to suggest SW.
You might want to ask the same question on the WW board to hear the other side.

It's really down to personal choice, eating habits etc

I've just switched from SW to WW as I found SW too restrictive as I like to have a drink at the weekends and ended up saving quite a few syns which meant I was deprived of syns in the week.

Some people have the misconception that WW people eat only convenience foods and that's really not true - pointing food does take a bit longer but in truth we are talking about a few minutes each day.

The new Pro Points system on WW is really good and I think people that choose to use points for junk food would probably be eating junk food anyway as this is to their taste.

I think I have a balanced diet with lots of whole food and fruit and veg but in better portion size than when I was on SW - and I can have a ready meal if I need/want to; that's not the fault of the SW diet - it was my own fault and I need the discipline.

Both diets are good and like any diet if you follow the rules they work, it's really a matter of choosing one that suits your tasted and eating/cooking habits etc.

Good luck whichever you choose :)

Ive just switched from ww to sw (again) cos i found ww was too easy to eat crap all the time but still stay within my points. Lots of crisps and bread where as on sw i tend to cut them right back to next to nothing.

It's all down to your down falls and where and when you lose the plot.
