SAVING SINS FOR THE WEEKEND

Hi everyone
been doing slimming world for 5 weeks now
and i got told i could save up all my sins for the wkend
have i been told wrong??
im really confused now cos i been doing really well by doing it this way cos really dont need to use my sins in the week
lost 1 stone 6lbs so far

Hi, if its working for you then keep at it, I personally need my syns during the day for sauces etc so I wouldn't be able to save my syns but my 3 friends all save their syns for the weekends alcohol intake and they have lost 11st between them in 6 months, so it isn't doing them any harm!! :)
 
I try to do a mix of the two. Have around 10 syns every day and save 5ish for the vino on a Saturday night. Only have a few (it only takes a few to get me drunk - always thought this was a bad thing til I started losing weight!). My C says that you should use your syns each day, but that she also saves a few just to make sure that her drinks are covered! HTH
 
I save mine for the weekend too - like above, I sometimes use a couple of sauces or little treats but I dont use massive amounts each day so I save them for my weekend nights out and socialising :) Last time I did slimming world I didnt even count any alcohol intake of the weekend and still lost 1.5 stone?! Just depends how it works for you but well done so far xx :)

Glad it's not just me with the alcohol. I haven't really stuck to plan, but any week I drink 4 small bottles of white wine, I've a great loss, even though I don't count all of the syns. Sickener to others I know, but happy days!!! xxx
 
SW does say that you should use a minimum of 5 syns a day. but around 10 is more realistic, maybe flexi syn if you are having a one off night out? x
 
My consultant told us to do whatever worked for us. She simply advised us to be cautious about saving syns for the weekend as it takes self-discipline. She said some people find themselves picking during the week to satisfy cravings and still have lots of syns at the weekend, meaning they have had way too many over the course of the week.

I personally do a bit of both. I think saving masses of syns for a 50-60 syn blow-out on saturday night would be too much and throw me off track. I use around 5 a day, for things like mayonnaise or butter, and try to stick to free evening nibbles of yoghurts and fruit. On friday and saturdays I relax a bit and have around 20-25 syns, sometimes buying some wine or maybe just enjoying some chocolate. I think ultimately you just need to find whatever works for you - some people like to have a daily allowance, others think of it as a weekly allowance and have different low and high syn days to suit their needs.

Thanks hun :D No you're not alone... I dont think having an alcohol blow out will every put me off slimming or what to eat... I can always find something stodgy and fatty for a hangover cure ;) But thats def where my syns go of a weekend :) xxx

I don't particularly 'save' them, on an average day I'll have anywhere between 2 and 15 syns, usually around the 5 or 6 mark, then on a Saturday I have whatever the hell I like, it usually adds up to about 50-70 syns, mostly on wine:D Works for me, but we're all different and I do have a lot to lose.
 
On Tuesday, I consumed 10 whole bars of the little tesco milky way type things. I just couldn't help myself Just kept popping them in one after the other. (I've since realised it's because I was due on!) Anyway that was over 60 syns. Not forgetting the syns I'd already used for my sauces and marg etc. Since then I've survived on very little syns, to try and make up for this.

I think I could quite easily do this every week I mean save them for the weekend, and if previous posts are anything to go by then this method does really work!
 
I have been having 5 a day, and saving the other 5 for weekends for the past fee weeks & have lost both weeks. Back to using 10 a day as no big plans for the weekend. And i'm really struggling to use them!
 
I never used to have a problem losing weight when I saved the majority of my syns for the weekend. It's only now when I have too many syns at the weekend, and then also during the week, that I'm having problems losing weight ;) xx
 
if I want them then I use them but anything not used is pooled for weekend for takeawys and treats.Up ' til last night I had only used 15 so that left me with loads for the weekend. Had an Indian last night and ww profiterole dessert and the dessert was more than the curry!So still got 46 left to last until Tuesday when I wi. I feel it makes the weekend extra special and no I don't feel deprived in the week.

i def dont feel deprived all week not having any sins
cos theres so much choice
going out on friday night
so saved up all my sins for wine and nibbles
Loving it so far!!!
