Hi i am due to start the cambridge diet on Tuesady and was wondering if anyone else has had weight loss results on this diet with pcos and on metformin?

Thanks

Zoe

Im on Exante which is the same as CD and PCOS hasnt affected my losses in the slightest :)

thats good news as i have piled on 3 stone and even though exercise 4 times a week it seems to go no where?
so CD is my last hope

thanks for reply x

I had great success with Cambridge, and I have pcos.. but I wasn't on metformin, so it might be worth checking this out with your gp.. It's serious stuff going onto the cambridge - worth it if you take it seriously, but it's important that you do take it seriously. I came off it too quickly and ate the wrong things and gave myself gallstones which needed my gall bladder to be removed. I also feinted one day cause I was on 3 packs a day only for a while and loved it, but accidentally went out dancing and drinking water for the evening and collapsed with exhaustion.. so be careful.. but if you do it right it's FAB!! Pcos shouldn't matter.. but do check about the metformin because it is prescribed for diabetes to control insulin/glucose levels so might be worth checking

Good luck - and enjoy it - once I got into CD I absolutely loved it, and have no regrets/ no doubts about the benefits

i have pcos and on metformin... well was the first time round lol.... it works wonders for pcos my symptoms started getting better after just a few weeks! tell you cdc that you are on metformin and what it does (as its actually a diabetic drug the may just make sure you have an extra meal) take you metformin with a meal or shake :)

I have pcos and have been doing CD for 3 weeks now. My losses have been much bigger than on WW or SW but less than other people on CD. My GP has advised me to take Metformin whilst on CD so will be starting that today to see if it makes a difference.

As others have said PCOS + Cambridge = Great results!!!

Infact I fell pregnant while on Cambridge diet last year. I'm back on it now as I gained alot of weight in my pregnancy (and after I had him) by weigh in 6 I had lost 28 lbs!! :)

I found out I was 3 wks preg in week 5 and I'd lost 2.5 st I don't think it would have happened without it. I'm the same back on it now finally going to get to my goal weight and be able to run around happily.

I lost almost 4st in 11 weeks on CD with a real severe case of PCOS. I fell pregnant whilst on CD and was advised to not do the diet anymore but surprisingly the weight stayed off right up until the end of my pregnancy and I only gained around a stone of it back :) I did take metformin but before I done CD so I don't know how/if this affects the weight loss x
