Why can I not have...

....Peanut Butter on Cruise??

I cannot seem to find a good medical reason why Dr D hasn't included this in the tolerated foods.

Can someone please tell me? Someone on my team is on a high protein, low fat diet and the smell of their PB on toast for breakfast is driving me MAD!!!!!!!!

It's a bit like asking why squares of dairy milk aren't tolerated :)

Mmmm now there's a thought :)

awwww nooooooooooooooooooo cant i have dairy milk on attack then well i think thats just not on LMAO!

well i think we should just rewrite DD book to suit ourselves !!! oh whoops thats right ten it wouldnt be the dukan diet would it duh !!!

I know these are all good answers, actually I just found out the answer for myself on neutritiondata.com. I'm just having a moan really, stayed the same for more than a week now and have not deviated one but from the diet. Temporarily lost 2lbs at the weekend but despite not changing a thing, I have put it back on again.
I'm wondering if perhaps this has been the wrong decision for me, and I need to resort to a VLCD again. The longer the weight remains stagnant, the more restrictive this diet seems.
I'm not deviating from the plan until I have decided exactly what I am going to do. Any advice welcome!

I would stick with it for a bit longer. I fluctuate all over the place and it is most frustrating at times. Are you posting your menus so we can have a nose - and maybe pick up on something?

You can't expect to lose vast amounts of weight very quickly when you have already been dieting, but stick to the rules and you can get there eventually, and maybe develop some better habits than you would losing all with the VLCD?.

- and deviating and having peanut butter isn't going to help:)

Hi M-Mouse - I haven't been dieting, my last and only other ever diet was LL 4 years ago. I guess that's the frustration for me - I lost so much so quickly then, and I kept it off so well for a long time, but I wasn't expecting to plateau less than 10 days in.
I'll post my menus but basically, every day is the same (and I am not bored yet!):
B: Fat free fromage frais or fat free yoghurt with oatbran mixed in
L: Two cold boiled eggs, portion of either chicken breast or salmon, with lettuce, cucumber added on PV days
D: Either lean steak, salmon or chicken, with some of the following added on PV days: tomatoes, broccoli, courgettes, mushrooms, spinach and onions
Snacks are virtually fat free lean ham, mullerlight vanilla yoghurt, fat free frozen yoghurt (if I need something cool) prawns and/or another egg
Minimum 2l water per day, one small skinny latte made with skimmed milk.
Boots Multivitamin supplement and sugarfree gum.

I have steered away from any deviation and I feel full and perfectly energised and fine, just the scales are STUCK.

Anyway, enough griping from me - I hope eventually I will wake up one day having lost half a stone

I would stick with it CoCoMo you have done well so far. I hadnt lost any weight last week (although i'm putting that down to TOTM) and its really frustrating but my clothes still feel like they are getting bigger so im trusting that as opposed to my weight.

Do you do much excerise? I have upped mine alot recently so am putting it down to muscle too. I could be wrong but it makes me feel better. Either way im feeling ALOT better than I used to alothough am exhausted this week due to lack of sleep (not diet related).

Keep going im sure you will start seeing results too. I weigh myself every two weeks and always get a big shock as opposed to being disheartened on a daily basis x

Sorry, thought you had been dieting before.
You might want to watch the number of eggs. On the official chat they do say you shouldn't have more than 5 yolks per week. A lot of us have far more than that but it could affect you? Also salty things like prepackaged hams can cause you to retain water.

As to the Mullers they do contain sugar and recently on the official chat they said they weren't allowed, even the vanilla and toffee. Lots of people on here do eat them, but again they could be affecting you (they are quite big).

Also your dairy in general - the limit on cruise is 1kg; you could try cutting down on your dairy?

Just a few things to try.

Hi CoCoMo - how many days have you been in cruise, and how many days have you been stalled?

I probably sound like a stuck record when I say this - but when I was in cruise I used to stall very month for 10 or more days. No movement at all. It was nervewracking, but it all came off in the end.

Sorry - I should have checked your stats, it says you started at the beginning of this month.

So - you lost for 10 days, then have seen the scales appear to stay at the same weight for 4 or 5? I know it's dispiriting, but that's not that unusual, particularly around the TOTM, when we tend to retain water.

If it is TOTM it may all fall off in one fell swoop!

If peanut butter was allowed then I'd be sat here now with a teaspoon and a jar!

As it isn't I'll go back to drinking my water.

I hope your stall ends soon.

Hi CocoMo,
My guess to your stall would be the amount of dairy - it looks like you have 2 -3 yogurts, plus fromage fraise, plus skim milk. Some people can have that much and still lose others seem to stall at greater than 2 servings - or if like me one serving :). As for the peanut butter (on toast yet) I don't see how that could be a lowfat, lowcarb diet unless they had moved to maintenance. I was on one diet where we were allowed 1 tablespoon of nut butter a day while we losing weight, but we didn't get it on bread! Bread wasn't reintroduced into the diet until we were at goal weight and were trying to maintain the loss. I think the best thing yo can do is not worry about other people's diets, that will drive you crazy and make it harder to commit to this one. Have you tried having more oat bran - it really does seem to help move the weight when you're stalled. The weeks I lose the most are the ones where I had extra oatbran rations. I have hunger issues and since the book says if you are "very hungry" you can have an extra oat bran ration, so I do that when I feel like I am too hungry to sleep.

Thank you so much everyone - I guess I am just having a rotten day and taking it out on stupid Dukan!
Thankfully I don't have TOTM issues as I have an implant (dratted PCOS!!!!) but I will cut my dairy down as much as I can. I guess that the "unlimited" thing needs a bit of tweaking for me here - I'll try to keep to meat proteins for the rest of this week and see how I am getting on at the weekend.

Sorry for being a misery everyone - normally I am sunshine itself, the Peanut Butter thing just pushed me over the edge!!!! Hope everyone is having a good week!
PS - Just to confirm, I have not actually eaten any PB, I just sniffed the jar. :D

I sometimes don't get periods on the pill but on the months I don't have a period my body stil goes through the motions ie, tiredness, water retention and bad skin. Not sure how the implant works but I know I still get those x
