I'm off on a basic camping trip on the weekend (I've never been camping) and i haven't got a clue how I'm going to stick to plan whilst I'm away :sigh:I'mm going to take loads of fruit with me soI'lllproperlyy end up living off that I'veve only been on sw for a week sdon'tnreallyly want to come off plan but i may have to

What about bachelors pasta and sauce.... Savoury rice....

I'm useless too. Went camping last year and went completely off plan! Will be going camping again this year so will be keeping an eye on this thread.

No electric hook up, just tent and camping stove :)

Beans!! You can't go camping and not have beans! Omelettes? If you bbqing, meat, salad and jacket spud. If not I would stick with green.

I'd agree, green is easier.

There are lots of things you can take with you to eat, mugshots, wholemeal bread, cheese, tomatoes, eggs, beans, rice, potatoes.

Try & plan your meals before you go, there is a few threads regarding picnic food why not have a search for that & see what ideas people are coming up with.

I know your camping is basic, but how basic, will you have a fridge, cooker, stove?

There really is no need to be off plan for the weekend.;)

Have never been camping myself but I do believe there is a LOT more available to you than just fruit.

MugShots, Savoury Rice, Bacon, Eggs, Beans, Hi-fi/Alpen Light Bars, Jacket Potatoes, Rolled up ham with Pease Pudding inside, Meat/Fish to BBQ/Grill, etc etc..

There are tonnes of free/low syn foods which are versitile and would be great for camping. Try searching the forum for 'Camping' or 'Picnic Foods' and I'm sure you'll find plenty more ideas.
