Hi all

Quick question.

Im a regular gymer and workout 5 or 6 out if 7 days but i have previously been warned about undereating and working out.

On average i burn about 500 - 600 cals each workout, if im only taking in 600 cals will my body go into starvation mode??

Whaddya think?? Any advice would be apprieciated.

Thanks

Wow thats a lot of workouts, when does your body get time to repair/recover?

Whilst on this plan I would suggest every other day at most, you have to give your body time to recover otherwise you'll hit a level of fitness and just plateau.

Have you started the plan yet? Because I would suggest giving it a miss for the first week until your body adjusts to the diet.

Hi cakey.

Its all low intesity cardio but i enjoy it and it chills me out after work.

I started the plan today was gonna go tomorrow and just do a very low intensity workout for half hour to see how i go and take it from there...maybe look to burn around the 200 cal mark and then stop.

I guess i need to find what works for me...it just feels wrong not exercising as i have done it for so long!

Just go careful, some people feel dizzy during the first few days

Indeed, I would definitely be careful the first few days, but once you're into ketosis and settled on the diet, as you're used to doing regular exercise anyway, it shouldn't be an issue. You may find, by trial and error, that on days when you want to push the exercise that you may be better having an extra pack on those days, or going working solution with a small meal.

It's been mentioned on here about having a hard boiled egg or 1/2 tin of tuna after a gym session. This is low in calories/carbs but a good source of protein (what muscles need to repair) :)

Is this frowned upon cybill?

I was thinking of eating protein rich but low carb food after training and cut the gym training back to 3 or 4 days and slowly increase times when i feel comfortable. Will have a go and see how my body reacts to it.

Thanks for your comments guys...

Not at all, I think those would be really sensible choices, low in calories and carbs, but would give you what your body may need following the exercise. I think each person has to find their own balance really, I know for me the days when I'm doing a bit more, I do feel better for eating some extra protein too - otherwise sometimes I can feel a little dizzy.

Excellent. Thanks again i really appreciate your help x

well I went, and i burnt 420 cals but i had a 1 egg omlette and some ham when i got home and just had my bar.

thanks for the advice xxx

Hi! Just wanted to say I am also an avid gym goer an have been on all liquids since feb. I did LL and moved to exante a few weeks ago. I would say the weeks I really caned it at the gym say around 7 hours plus my weight losses weren't as much.

I've found that if I do 60 mins three times a week and some toning w.non cardio as and when the losses are better. Obv bodies act differently - but just wanted to say it can be more beneficial on this to do less! :)

Happy gyming xxx

Thanks Pixie! i really apprieciate your advice.

Hi, I think it was me that mentioned the 1/2 tin of tuna/ boiled egg or you could do like cakey who had an extra bar through the first week.

I don't like the idea of being in starvation mode and i work out 3* a week so i;m having a little extra.

Would back up the advice to not push it in the first week as your body needs to get used to the new energy source and you could start carb crvings on too little

Good luck
cheers
