help disappointing first week :-(

I wanna be a princess :0)
please could someone give me advice i have included a few week days and weekend diaries i had a total of 95 sins all week 4 green days two red and on ee. istatred last sun weighed at night in at 12 5.......this am after what i would say was a week of no cheating i am 12 3 and a half i think i would weigh this anyway as i amalways lighter in the am. My questions are:
is it because i have already lost over 8 stones counting cals?
i have my period will this make a difference?
am i eating too much??
is it because i saved my sins till the weekend so i am weighing myself after two days of high sins?
please help i dont want to have to change back to counting cals again? thanks everyone in advance feeling sorry for mesell:confused::(

Hi Moomin. Well done on your loss!

I think your food diary looks great. I think you may get a lower than hoped for first week loss if you are used to eating well anyway. Immediately before I started SW I had a big blowout. I had alcohol, salty snacks, processed rubbish. All crappy stuff so was retaining a lot of water and had a big loss in my first week. But it was water weight, seems to me that you are losing fat and that is much better!

Your 1.5 loss is excellent, especially as you were already eating sensibly. And well done on your 8 stone loss. That is amazing :winner:

i have my period will this make a difference? Yes, it can make you gain several pounds, but you see a bigger loss the next week so it all averages out.

I agree, 1.5 lb is still great and on an 8 stone loss already is absolutely amazing! :) Some weeks will always be bigger or smaller than others and have no obvious relevance to what you've been eating. My first week I only lost half a pound despite being angelic, then the next week EIGHT pounds came off, another week I put 1/2 a pound on despite being really good which got me really down but then I lost 6 the next week.

You're often going to find it easier to lose more when you're heavier, so eight stone down it wont be the same as at the beginning but wow, youve achieved so much already! All sorts of things could affect it, yes including your period, the fact you eat more over the weekend (I do this, I weight in on Tuesdays so always feel hopeful at the end of the week then a bit depressed when some of what I 'lost' comes back after pigging out at the w/e). But the day to day, week to week losses are irrelevant, its what you manage over time thats important and you've done amazingly well, you should be really proud of yourself! :)

I think once a week can be too often to get weighed as it can get you down if you feel you've been super good and it doesn't show on the scales. Just bear in mind how its gone over the last month, two months, since the beginning. A pound here or there is so insignificant on the grand scale of things.

Also a lot of people find SW can seem slower at first if they've been on a strict calorie controlled diet as you've simply got so much more VOLUME of food in you, even though it's got hardly any calories in it, but this evens out because the volume is always the same every week. Stick to it and it'll be fine! :) You've done so well already.
 
thanks silly sausage and ermintrude for you lovely messages it has helped me loads. i was really down this am cos felt i had been an angel this week and thought i may drop 8lbs !!! but i have really enjoyed cooking and eating the food (sw quiche lentil loaf lentil soup sw rice pudding !!) sorry got side tracked ha ha. i am not a veggie but i love green days !!!!! i am going to stick to all green this week and plough on perhaps try to eat to my appetite more but i never feel hungry either. i hve noticed i am soo much more satisified on sw which means i dont crave chocky as much i think i used to just count the mins till next chocky bar lol :0). i do forget how far i have come so thanks both of you for the lovely points you made. i just really want to be able to eat more and healthier and i rrr think if slimming world works for me then i may get to the end of this looooonnnnngggg weightloss journey. good luck to you both and congratulations on your losses to date. i am going to keep an exact meal diary just in case i need it lol x kind regards xx
