I have always been on some kind of a diet most of my life i have just had a baby 6 weeks ago and need to lose a huge amount of weight i have been thinking about going back on cambridge diet but cant make my mind up what to do someone please help is it slimming world weight watchers slimfast or cambridge i have given myself a headache trying to choose

I havent tried cambridge or slimming world, I'm on ww at the moment and I used them before with good success. Its a personal choice and being a new mum you obviously need something thats not going to take a lot of your time. I'm just going to give you my two cents on WW. So its all about pro points. Everything you eat is pointed. You get daily points and weekly points. Fruit and most veg are free, but I have said it before and I will say it again nothing is off limits! That in my opinion is the best thing about WW. I dont know about you but when I know I cant or shouldnt have something I just want it more and more where as on WW you can budget your points so you can treat yourself if you want to.

To be fair it does take a while to get used to points and portion sizes and stuff I'm two weeks in (my first week was a bit of a write off and my second had a few hiccups) but now I know I have a handle on it and am looking forward to a good loss this week. What I am doing now is taking about 30 minutes before I go and do my shopping to plan out and point my meals for the week. Every one gets an extra 49pp for the week to use up on treats, or a glass of wine (vodka and sugar free redbull in my case) or if you go over your points some days. I can only tell you what I know and I know that if you weigh out your portions budget your points through out the day then WW works.

No matter what you decide to do well done on deciding to make a change and congratulations on the arrival of your little one :)

See you round the boards :)

Hi hunni,
It's really difficult to choose isn't it? Tbh, if you read through all the different diets on here, you will see that they all work if you stick to them.
The one thing I would say is that in your situation, having had a baby only 6 weeks ago, I would suggest a diet that isn't too drastic. You need your energy now, and I feel you would be better off doing a healthy eating plan such as slimming world or weight watchers. But that's simply my own opinion! I don't know a lot about the meal replacement diets other than that they work quite quickly, much quicker than sw or ww anyway. Having said that, I've lost over 3 stones since Jan with sw.
Good luck with whatever you decide xx

Not sure how long you have to wait to do a VLCD.

But you can join WW 6 weeks after a birth with your doctor's consent and also join SW

Good luck

Irene xx
