Hello Everyone,

I thought it was about time I started a food diary on here. Ive been reading lots of other peoples and seeing all the great feedback and advice all you friendly people are given!

I started SW last year and stuck at it for a few months, but then christmas came round and I went majorly off track, and finally got the courage to go back and join about 8 weeks ago. Now i started off with some great losses, but now its slowed down and I can feel myself slipping and giving into treats.

I guess I'm doing this in the hope that not only will I hopefully get some great tips from everyone, but that I will be able to keep a track of what I am actually eating! I weigh in on a weds evening so for me Thursday is day 1 of my SW week..

Any advice would be greatly appreciated ;) so starting with today here goes..

Breakfast: 1 Apple, 2 x wholemeal toast (hexb + 2syns) with philli (hexa).

Lunch: Left over shepherds pie (including carrots, onion, garlic, courgettes). Half a chopped up pepper.. my new fave!

Dinner: Sausage & bean Casserole (3 quorn sausages, peppers, carrots, onion, baked beans, kidney beans, butter beans, tinned tomatoes), served with rice.

Snacks: Fruit Salad, Half choc brownie (7syns)

Water: 2 litres

Totals Syns: 9

How does that all sound? Am i missing anything? Having too much of anything?

Charlotte :p

Dinner: chicken fajitas - chicken, peppers, onion, seasoning (2.5syns), lettuce, salsa (2syns)

Snacks: apple, 2 x Thornton chocolates (4syns)

Total syns: 8.5syns

Saturdays food:

Breakfast: 2 x Alpen light (hexb) and an apple

Lunch: 2 x babybel (hexa) and half bag of revels (4.5syns)

Dinner: will be chicken shish kebab, no pitta, loads of salad, and small amount of garlic Mayo (4syns)

Snacks: none

Water: 1 litre so far, need to make sure drink some more!

Sundays munchies:

Breakfast / lunch: got up late so classed as both! SW cooked brekkie, 2 lean bacon, 1 fried egg, beans, tomatoes, 1 sausage (3syn) and 1 hash brown (3syn)

Dinner: lasagne (5syns?) with large salad.

Snacks: fruit salad & a kiwi

Water: 2 litres

Total syns: 11syns?

If anyone can shed any light on the lasagne that would be great help! Was made by my mum, used extra lean mince, lots of veg, pasta sheets, tomato sauce made up from scratch so was free, but the White sauce was a jar. Only had a small amount of white sauce on the lasagne and I had a serving about the size of a muller pot! (sorry couldn't think of anything else that size!)

Please help with this syn value if u can!

Weigh in .. Put on a pound!!!! What the hell?!?! Where have I been going wrong? I'm absolutely gutted just feel like giving up. Can anyone tell me where I've gone wrong?

Hi hun.
Its possible you aren't eating enough superfree. You are eating fruit (i'm assuming after your meals) but not eating much or any superfree with them. Some of us just can't get away with that i'm afraid.

The theory with superfree is that if you fill your plate 1/3rd with superfree you will automatically reduce the amount of other higher calorie foods you eat. So having a bit of fruit after a massive bowl of pasta is not really going to help with portion control.

So, instead of having pasta & sweetcorn (which is not a superfree food) then a kiwi. (which probably isn't 1/3rd superfree anyway) Maybe have a big side salad, and a little less pasta? Then if you're still hungry have some fruit.

Good luck hun x

Ohh that makes sense, I feel a bit silly now for thinking that I could make up for the superfree after the meal!
Will definitely make sure I try and add this into my meals instead of after.

Hey,

Well done you x

I am not sure you are having enough to eat full stop but yes more super free on your plate may help.

personally I was struggling with the 1/3 supper free thing so have gone to having red, green and extra easy days.

x

Will definitely make more of an effort to have the superfree included in my meals rather than after. Thanks for the advice :) much appreciated x

It's only really after 3 months that the plan really clicked for me- a couple of tweaks and i'm sure the results will show xx

With the having superfree with a meal in the case of Brekkie if I have 2xweetabix and a pear I know it's not within my meal but would that count? My logic behind this is cos it's a hexb it's a measured amount anyway so portion control wouldn't come into it for this, am I right? X

Yes hun - thats fine. I tend to have bowl of fruit, sprinkle over all bran and then add ff yog instead of milk to it, but I know alot of people are bit squeamish about mixing fruit with cereals and do what you are suggesting, and you're right that its already a measured amount so less to worry about on the portion control.
