Need some advice on motivation at weekends

Hi All,

I do SW at home at the moment, and have a problem with sticking to it at weekends. Food wise I am pretty good, but I love my White wine and it seems that this is messing with my weight loss.

I have had a think and decided that if I go to class it may shame me into giving up the wine at weekends as I never loose weight and not sure if I am doing this correctly. I am an online member at the mo and wondered if anyone had any advice on 1) SW and alcohol, 2) online or class is best, 3) which plan is best, have tried all of them ( green gave me the best loss a year ago). 4) exercise how much should I be doing for best losses?

Please help I need to loose about 1.5 stone.

I manage this by wi Sunday mornings at home. I don't go to class. Doing this males me behave Friday and Saturday so you stay a bit more focussed.
 
I do it at home, I do red days only and I used to drink all of my weekly syns.

I weigh on a Thursday morning, I find this helps if I have a drink on the weekend as I have 4 days til weigh in.

Are you going over your syn allowance? Syns are there to be used, if you want to use them for a drink then go for it.

I got to the point where I was going beyond my syn allowance and it was affecting my losses. I've cut down a lot, only have a drink Friday/Saturday night and count it in my suns. Ive lost 13lb since start of may and it's def helped with this.

Which plan are you following?
 
Save your syns during the week. I think someone on here said a bottle of wine is around 30 syns?
If so (and I hope I'm not steering you off course) then it's about 4.5 syns a day (over guestimating)
 
You could also swap every other drink for something syn free? Iced Fizzy water and lemon?
 
Yes I think the wine I'm drinking is definately over my syn limit. I only drink Friday & Saturday but probably drink about 3 bottles over the 2 days working it at 26 syns per bottles = 78 syns in 2 days on wine alone then add my food syns!!!! I can see why it's not working now!! Probably have whole weeks syns in 2 days:-( that is not good. Perhaps I will try shorts with a diet mixer see how that goes!!!
 
Try having spritzers - less wine and less syns per glass!! I just think that its not worth using syns for wine as its gone in a flash. Also I find alcohol makes me soooo hungry!! Try looking up syns for say vodka and a calories free mixer - maybe its less x
 
Hi hun i used to do it alone and then went to class for various reasons. I find it makes me behave more on weekends cos i weigh in on a tuesday.

Even sticking to diet mixers and vodka can add up the syns. I was 'good' last weekend and stuck to vodka diet cokes, but i still probably clocked up 70 syns over the weekend by the time i had doubles etc. I think for me its gonner have to be cutting down/out booze.
 
Booze is a killer, I have cut it out and replaced it with sparkling water. Still feel social but without the syns. 12 weeks now without a drink and I feel great and also 4.5 stone lighter

I think after my holiday I am going to give up wine & lager and stick to shorts and diet mixers for 3 months drinking only one night at the weekend Probably Saturdays. See what happens.

Don't really want to give up alcohol completely as this is my only vice now, (gave up smoking a year ago, think this is where my gain come from)!!! And I have the belief that you only live once so enjoy it and I enjoy my drink. (Don't get me wrong I am not an alcoholic, but some weekends have felt like one LOL)

Yeah that's sound good , you shouldn't have to give up alcohol completly (unless you want to) but i did find I had to cut down on my alcohol intake drastically. Me and my oh were havin a glass of wine in the week with our meals and then I was drinking a lot more at wk ends, using up all my Syns and more. Also when I was drinking I would get the nibbles and would eat a lot more (normally bad stuff). Now if I drink I try to have vodka diet cokes and only one night a week.

Omg I could have written that!! Although it would be a couple of bottles on a Fri and Sat, plus a couple of glasses on a Thursday and a couple on a Sunday...... Mind I used hardly any syns on food, aside from ketchup and extra light mayo.

I will still have a drink but limit it to a fri and saturday and only 1 bottle max. I feel better for cutting it down anyway.

God - I sound like an alchy, I promise I'm not I just enjoy a nice glass of white!!
 
I'm glad I'm not the only one LOL!!!

I have to admit I never seem to get the munchies, that is probably because I am drinking my wine whilst I cook dinner so when I finished drinking I eat my meal. Always SW friendly and usually very few syns.

Sometimes my drinking does exceed what I have stated but not every week!!!

I have to stop the wine completely because I can't stop at just one bottle, or I don't think I can. I could always try drinking slower and eating earlier. Never feel like drinking after I have had my meal.
 
I'm the same, one leads to another.....
