11stone to come off - lets get going!

RIGHT...

I have never done one of these online diary thingies so going to give it a go, in the hope it helps!

Due to boredom, lazy job etc, I am at a point where i need to shift 11 stone. I am 5ft10, so it is not totally grotesque, but sufficient enough to look like a ball with a head.

I am having a last supper day today, where I am going to have everything that I want, sandwiches, pizza, fill your boots time, and then tomorrow, its the age old 'Monday Diet.' LOL

I have started upping my water, and reach around 5 to 6 litres a day, half with squash and half just water, but going to try and aim for all water, as I go.

Exercise - no

Joke! lol but not yet, until some of the blubber has gone.

I am going to weigh in the morning, and then weigh weekly. Im not going to do a plan as such, but my own kind of VLCD of around 500 cals and lots of water. I had a practise run yesterday, but the sweets got me LOL but tomorrow is D-Day! (death? diet? DOOM?)

I am going to use this, whenever Im craving, which will be a lot, but hopefully, that will stop me from getting tempted to the point of realising it.

:cry:next installment tomorrow:cry::wave_cry::)

Good luck with your weight loss journey...you can call on Mini's for support in the tough times..there are so many friends on here that will help.

Wow, 500 is going to be seriously tough - I couldn't do it I know. You are going to find it hard to take in adequate vitamins and minerals too. Don't mean to be negative, just concerned for you as that sounds like a really harsh regime.

Best of luck

Hiya mate

Barb is right - 500 cals sound very tough, especially if you are not doing a VLCD. Please make sure you are getting all your vitamins and nutrients and get yourself checked over by the Dr. Wishing you all the best.

thankyou for all the lovely replies :)

dont do drs LOL but i have some vitamin pills and the 500 is nutritious, its amazing how much salad u can pack in, thats got to be better than 3000 cals of chocolate surely? it defo will be tough but its to get the bulk off quick, then i can do all the mental stuff whilst im in decent enough clobber to go outside once in a while! :D

What you aim to do is downright dangerous. Your body will be in starvation mode and start to shut down. You are risking damage to your vital organs in the long term.

The only way you can diet at this level safefy is by using a VLCD which is closely monitiored by the Government's Health Bodies for safety.

If you are dieting with food alone you should not go below 1200 calories.

Harsh post I know but your health is paramount and you will definitely be risking this if you continue with your plan.

Additionally, if you do not eat enough nutrition and go into starvation mode your body will start to store a proportion of anything you eat as a reserve in case you do the same again the next day.

Please reconsider.

then what is it all these people who have these fast results are doing? cos theres no way i could have 1200 cals a day and lose a stone a month

Most of the people losing a stone a month are following a VLCD like Cambridge, Lighterlife or LipoTrim. The packs provide 100% of the vitamins and nutrients your body requires, which is why it is not a starvation method, and why it is considered safe.

Obviously you are well within your rights to do whatever plan you choose for yourself, but what you are suggesting is dangerous and needs to be considered very carefully.

Not having a go - just trying to be honest.

but isnt vlcd = very low calorie dieting? i appreciate your opinions :) to be honest i got the idea from lurking on here the past week or so :s dont the packs give 500 cals but in a more vitamin enriched way?

Hiya

The packs provide 100% of your body's nutrient requirements, something that is extremely difficult to do when you are simply cutting down on calories. You also see a qualified counsellor/pharmacist who will assist you, and ensure that you are following the plan safely and not suffering any ill effects.

These meal replacement VLCDs rely on ketosis to remove the feeling of hunger and assist you into fat-burning mode.

i must admit im still confused by the logic, surely if ur eating around 500 cals, or a low calorie, food +vitamins or packs, and drinking 4litres +, ketosis would still happen, as its a body reaction?

thats got to be better than 3000 cals of chocolate surely?

Not necessarily. There's a good chance that you get a fair amount of vits, minerals, protein, fats etc in 3000 cals of chocolate. Only trouble is you get a lot more as well. Going for an option of low calorie salads will mean you miss out vital nutrients so could well be more unhealthy in the long run.

Remember that it's not just to do with vitamins and calories. Fats are important, protein too. Where are you going to get that from?

then what is it all these people who have these fast results are doing? cos theres no way i could have 1200 cals a day and lose a stone a month

Which is why people chose to buy the special VLCD meals. So they can get everything they need without having so many calories. The meals are higher in protein, so as been explained help ward off hunger.

Unless you are doing a properly formulated VLCD, you aren't advised to go under 1100.

Me thinks that you would find it very hard to do 500 cals of salad. Hunger, dry hair, nails breaking, start feeling ill, periods stopping, pale and aenemic, fainting and starving hungry. You wouldn't want to do that would you now;)

We can only advise you based on our experience and training. You must make the final decision as it is your body and your health.

Why not contact a CDC, LL, or LT counsellor/pharmacist in your area and have a full discussion about this.

VLCD's are not just about losing weight quickly and safely, there is a complete stablisation and maintenance programme to help you learn to re eat correctly and maintain your weightloss.

i do really appreciate all opinions, but counselling etc isnt for me, im too private a person, so thats one of the reasons im going it alone, i couldnt involve a 'stranger' in reality, but ill give it a go and see :D 2 pages and ive not even started it yet haha thanks all tho :)

Hi again, just a further 2 penneth! Recently I had a bash at the Johnson up day down day diet. This plan means you have 500 cals on a down day, whatever you likethe next day, on an alternating basis. I found it easy to start with, lost 8lb in a 4 weeks, but those down days got tougher and tougher. If you have the pure self control to do it then great, but I think anything under 1200 cals a day is too much like hard work. Maybe you should plan out a regime that gives you a balance of strict and not so strict days? Have a look at Juddd, it may be of interest!

Sorry to nag!

Hiya FTT2007

I myself lost 11 stone 18 months ago now using the Cambridge Diet and I would urge you to please contact a counsellor.

To eat 500 calories a day without a "nutritionally complete" food source will mean you are going to be putting your health at serious risk, you will not be getting enough protein to protect your lean muscle mass and hence although you may lose weight you will be losing a lot of muscle which will make keeping the weight off incredibly difficult in the future.

I never wanted to talk to anyone about my weight etc before I started but believe me you are not the biggest person to ever start Cambridge and your counsellor will have seen many many people like you who want to lose weight quickly but more importantly safely.

If you want to chat this over in anyway or have any questions then either E-Mail me directly at [email protected] or you can always give me a telephone and we can chat it through.

Mike

Thanks all for your guidance :) Im going to try it, if it fails, then I tried, and it wont be the first time LOL but it feels right, so the clicks, clicked I suppose, in the old noggin LOL

If it works, then I can get the bulk of fast, then review as I go, depending on how I feel, if I can go out, what I wear, etc I dont envisage doing it til the end :)

The counselling stuff, its not my weight that stops it, I just am not someone who involves others, I really couldnt do that, even if I was 8stone and a model lol :D

Ive took some piccies, and my husband is joining me on it as well, but Ill just post his loss, as he is private too LOL :D and weighday is Monday

so:

WEEK 1 : 21 stone 7 ibs ----> 161 ibs to go (TARGET: 10stone) AUG 27th 2007
