Medication

Hi everyone :)

I am currently taking medication daily for IBS (painkillers), thyroid and anxiety. All of these tablets require to be taken with food (so I don't feel dizzy / sick etc). Would the shakes be sufficient enough for me to do SS or would I need to do SS+ and take the tablets with a small meal? (I take all tablets at the same time). Alternatively, would a bar be sufficient enough for something food based?

Just wondered if anyone had any advice on this? My doctor isn't particularly in favour of food replacement diets and I'd rather avoid a lecture by asking if possible! I had planned to start Cambridge (or possibly exante) a few months ago but was unable to due to illness so I am back to considering whether to start again.

Thanks in advance! X

I think (but I may be wrong) that if you have medical conditions, you need to have a form signed by your GP.

If I were you, I would call my local CDC and ask them what they think would work best for you :) There is no harm in asking :) You can find them on the Cambridge website and almost all of them have emails as well. You can write to them if, like me, you're shy on the phone

Good luck whatever you choose to do :D xxx

Bump anyone? Any experience is gladly received! My doctor wasn't very helpful!! Luckily I don't need a doctors signature to start! Xx

I would agree with this, if you are on pain killers for IBS especially you need to take care as food replacement diets really mess with your bowel movements

I was afraid of that! My doctor basically said try it and see.. Not the best advice :(

Having had some of the 'experiences' I've had with the toilet situation on CD, I personally wouldn't risk it. If you contact a CDC they will tell find out from Head Office and tell you everything, you need to contact one to start anyway so you've got nothing to lose ;) Good luck xx
