Hello all

I just wanted to know if on this diet as i' m 5ft 3ins and 30 and weight 9 stones and have 29ppp day can i eat what i like as long as i stay within my point range for that day.

I can' t go to the meetings as i work evenings but use to do the old system and it has changed an aweful lot.

Please help?????????/

Hi ... I am getting confused... I thought with this ProPoint there was free fruit and some veg ... but I don't know what what veg is... I am a late worker too! So I am looking around for any info....

So any pointers would be great ... please ....thank you .

According to my book the following veg aren't zero points.
Avocados
Parsnips
Potatos
Sweet potato
Sweet corn / corn on the cob (baby corn is 0)
Yams
Peas (not sugar snaw or snow/mangetout)
Beans (except runner, green, French style or bean sprouts)
Lentils
Cassava/yucca/manioc
Olive
Plantain

As far as I know all fruit is zero points.
Hope this helps.
Good luck!

Well that is just typical.... so what about pasta? Can we eat pasta? Is there a plate ratio that we should stick to? Sorry very very new to this and not going to class... yes please don't moan...

Thanks LMO.... I love parsnips and sweetcorn... peas... but I can eat mangetout fantastic! Oooo and baby corn... see not that bad! I also love Olives.. :( Oh well little in moderation is what I say :)

Thanks again

Don't worry about asking questions. It's part of what the forum is for - and we were all new once! You can eat pasta - but it will cost you points.
There is no ratio - eat whatever you want as long as you don't go over your points. Of course you'll want to bulk out meals with the free fruit and veg so you'll end up with a pretty good ratio.
Sweetcorn is two pro points for 60g.
I brought a basic starter pack from eBay - less than fifteen pounds - and it's been really helpful. It's got all the "rules" in and the book giving you the points value of foods. If you can't get to meetings (I can't either!) it's sooooo helpful.

Be warned if you're as disillusioned as I was with pasta and rice, pretty high. 40g dried pasta is 4pp, i was easily eating 3 times this i'm sure. Given up on pasta completely unless as a treat, it's easier!

hi all the pp are for you to eat in what ever you want and it was suggested you use 5pp for breakfast, 10pp for lunch and 14pp for dinner. i have never been a breakfast person so just eat lots of fruit which is 0pp but do like a dessert at night so will have more fruit and ice cream so enjoy your pp and lose weight :D

I see ... I love pasta and have avoided it till I can get my hands on a calculator and know what I can and can not eat as in points ...thanks x

I got a great tip on here this week! There are free apps for the iphone or smartphone that have the calculator in them. Much cheaper than buying one in class, if you already have the phone!!

HTH!

i found this somewhere on here and have been using these amounts
wholewheat pasta = 9 pp per 100g, 7 pp for 75g
White pasta = 10 pp per 100g

i use 75g of wholewheat pasta and that is more than enough for a meal.
Should have said when i posted this that these are dry weights so weighs alot more when cooked as it absorbs the water

Just looked it up and 100 grams of cooked wholewheat pasta is 3 points . I will check up on the points for White pasta and points in rice for you later and post them .
