Ive got a dilemma

Hi everyone.

Some of you may know (and most probably won't know!) I gave up Cambridge and decided on joining weightwatchers. I was all set to go to my first meeting last night but missed it by accident!

I have struggled for ages on cambridge and needed a change. I've been off cd for about a week now and I've put about 5lb on :(

Been shopping for some clothes today and I'm so down about myself now. They had nothing in my size and everything I liked looked horrible!!!!! I honestly want to cry and I need to get this weight off NOW :(

I really want to start back on Cambridge after the weekend now because I know I can do it quickly. I've got no events coming up until my boyfriends uni graduation in 7 weeks time then my 21st birthday in 10 weeks time. I have struggled really badly to stick to it though so I don't know if I'm just setting myself up for a fall. I don't feel happy at all at the moment, I feel so fat and disgusting and I know with the slow losses on WW I will feel this way for weeks and weeks if I go through with joining.

Can someone give me their honest opinion? Should I give cd another try? I think having things planned every couple of weeks didn't help me before, as I kept having days off then struggled to get back on. I could try for these 7 weeks! I'm so stuck right now :(

Sorry if that was really moany and feeling sorry for myself. I just know that you lot might understand.

Hey Felix,

I know exactly how you feel hun(((((((big hugs)))))).

Anyway my honest opinion is that YES you should definetly give cd another shot.Look you have two choices you can be miserable and stay the weight you are now or you can go back to cd and in 7 weeks more than likely lose 2 stone. How fantastic would you feel at you bf`s graduation wearing something that you really want to wear, and also your 21st,these are two huge incentives for getting stuck back into it.

As i say to people who are really struggling, this diet is a life CHOICE that YOU have made.Nobody has forced you to do it.So dont think of it as starving yourself just think of it as doing something that will make you look and feel SO much better about yourself, its only a short time. Its only going to be 7 weeks out of your life thats it,and aftef that you will have a chunk of your weight gone and give you the incentive to carry it over to weightwatchers.

I really hope you get back to it on monday and dont use the weekend as an excuse to indulge and overdo it.

I wish you the best of luck and let us know either way what your going to do.

I understand where you're at.

If I were you though - only start back on cd if you can commit 100%. A few cheats and you'll prob fall off the wagon completely. In which case you'd be better off with a slow steady loss on WW.

Thanks for replying both of you :)

I think I should give cd another stab. Before I had a night out or weekend away etc planned for every couple of weeks and I'd keep thinking 'screw it I'll restart after that is over' but now I have literally nothing for 7 weeks.

My OH wasn't too pleased about joining WW anyway and wanted to stay on cd. I think I could do it if I keep posting on here for advice :)

Good luck!

Dohave much to lose you hun?Is your oh supportive? It makes a huge difference if you have someone close to support you.Just keep thinking its only 7 weeks, thats nothing when on cd,it will fly by.

Best of luck to you and as you say post often ,as the support on here id fab

Hi Felix. What was it that you struggled with on Cambridge? Was it the no-food bit, or could you not stomach the products? The thing is people automatically think of Sole Source when they think of Cambridge. But there are 6 different plans, most of which do incorporate food, and are still low-calorie enough for you to lose a significant amount of weight each week. So if you were struggling with the lack of food, then it makes sense to start on either SS+ or 810 - that way you have a small meal to look forward to at the end of the day.

However, if you have a problem with the actual products, then it would make sense to perhaps try a different weight loss plan. Whatever you do though, don't give up. Try different things and you will eventually find a plan which works for you. Failure is NOT an option - especially with the way you are currently feeling about your body. Good luck!

I've got 3 and a half stone to lose until my target :( he's really supportive as we have been doing it together :) he's lost 4 and a half stone so far and is only 1 and a half from his goal now. I'd love to wear something really nice for his graduation and I want to look good for him so people he knows from uni don't think he's got a minging girlfriend! (I know that sounds silly and he tells me not to be stupid when I say that but it's what I feel like). We went to his sisters graduation this time last year and we both look awful and huge on the pictures and I want to look nice for his pics :)

Thanks for the good luck. I hope I can do it :D

Hello :) I have done SS+ since the start but I lack motivation after a few days and give up. My CDC suggested doing 810 at the weekends as this is when I really do struggle so I might try that. Thanks for the reply :)

Hi Felix

I too was on ww and have been contemplating all week wether to restart on cd as the losses just aren't good enough for me on ww.

After much thought I have decided to restart on Monday.!! I have nothing planned for 3 weeks so know I can give it a good stab if I manage 100%. But I also made a deal with myself that this will be the very last time I attempt Cambridge. and if I don't stick to it then I am completely finished with it..!!! I'm hoping that thought will help me stay on track too if I know it's my very last attempt.

I say go for it chick. U have good goals to work towards and we can start together on Monday and help each other stay on track through the tough times. Good luck with it Hun xxxx

Haha I know. We just found each other at the right time. Which is brilliant. So we have no excuses. We can help each other along the way and make sure we do it this time once and for all. Xxxx
