How can I survive the weekend?

I'm so chuffed that I have managed 4 straight days without going over my syns, actually 'saving' about 30 :D We are going to stay with friends this weekend and I dont want to ruin my good start. Any advice on how to stay on track? I know she is planning lasagne on Friday night and a cooked breakfast on Saturday, whisky festival (with tastings!) and then pizza. HELP!!

Try to save as many syns as possible and make informed choices. Ask her to grill your bacon instead of frying it and if you can have poached or scrambled egg. Have loads of salad with the lasagne to fill you up so you don't eat as much, try to write things down as much as you can so you can limit the damage. Hope you have a great weekend! X x

Take some of your own food? Would she mind? Hopefully she will be a supportive friend and be ok with it. So I'd take lean bacon for grilling, like the above poster said have a poached egg or take frylight, baked beans and then take mushrooms and tomatoes to do in frylight too. That way the breakfast is sorted and it's pretty much the same as everyone elses!

Hmm...lasagne will probably be high in syns, would a microwavable ww one be better? Or could you have salad instead? The pizza could you have a pasta dish instead as lots of people enjoy some pasta with pizza that way you could have a bit of salad with pasta!?

I know it seems anti social bringing your own food or changing your meal to suit your diet, but as long as your friend understands its not that you don't like her cooking or plans it should be fine...at least this way you'll be able to syn some whisky lol

Have a great time! Don't let what you are eating rule your weekend!

Good luck and enjoy your weekend. I tend to not feel so bad about 1/2 days at the weekend (obviously not going overboard) but am 100% every other day of the week and that works for me!

I'm with Lottie - go and have a good time. If you plan to do SW long term you need it to work with your life, not the other way round. Sometimes that means you can't stick to plan 100%. Take some mugshots and some easy to eat HEX like babybels or Ryvita or Hifi bars. That way you can refuse offers of bread/cheese etc and still get your fibre & calcium fixes.

Its fairly easy to keep brekkie nearly free - just don't have sausages, cut the fat off the bacon, and ask from scrambled egg if asked.

If you've already saved 30 syns from the week then you are on the right track anyway. I save about that if I have a night out planned at the weekend to cover any drinks. Just make sure that when you get back you don't stop having syns to try and compensate as this is likely to make you more likely to fall of the wagon.

Offer to help with the brekkie and sort of cook your own? perhaps say - oooh can i not have butter/milk in my scrambled egg - and then if you are helping put a few extra mushrooms/tomatos for yourself to ensure your plate is 1/3rd full - ??? no sausages, grilled bacon (loads of it with fat trimmed off) nobody will notice you are on SW!

As for the rest, try to grab some fruit/salad snacks and then just eat less of the naughties - it will be hard, but you have saved enough syns to have a little overspend on these days!

I am having a flexi syn day on Saturday night purely for drinking :( i know i wont stick to it, so i am setting a number of drinks and sticking to that instead! x

If you already know what food your friend is planning but haven't said anything re. dieting to your friend, then my advice would be to enjoy yourself, just go for small portions where you can and say no to seconds! :D

I've had a few weekends like that, where I thought there was absolutely no way I'd be able to lose weight, but I made wise choices and at my next weigh in I either lost or had a STS. The trick, I think, is to not just think 'sod it', but to try and do your best despite being off-plan.

I think this probably depends on the person... but I would be mortally offended if I told a friend I was cooking lasagna and she brought a WW microwavable version to eat!
