So motivated to start but...

I went to my surgery to get my medical form signed and the Dr there point blank refused to sign it, saying she wouldn't sign anything she didn't know about. So I gave her the book with the info in it and she looked at it, looked at me and said 'why don't you just try doing more exercise?' and sent me out.

Argh!

I don't know what to do at this point. I've emailed my consultant to see what else I can do, because if my surgery has that attitude, I'm never going to get it signed off.

Stupid PCOS ruining everything. Again.

I would say go back to another GP in the practice. Try a male GP as I don't find all female GPs that helpful. Can't the consultant sign it for you? Print off the NICE obesity guidelines that discuss VCLD and use that as a bit of ammo. The thing is the form is not a permission slip but just a confirmation of your medical information. You need to keep at them. Do they run a weight management clinic? Your last resort (whichyou may not want to do) is complain to the practice manager about the brick wall you have hit. If that doesn't work change GP not worth staying with them if not supportive. Mind you if your stats are right and your BMI 37.8 you don't need the form completed. Good luck Jayne x
