Dukan for Smaller Sizes

I hijacked an earlier thread so wanted some advice from you regarding my weight. Im currently approx 9st 6lbs and 5"5. my constant weight pre preganancy was 8"4 and was a happy UK sized 10. Two years on following a horrible seperation and beautiful babyi feel absolutely miserable about my size. I bulge out of my lovely clothes, no longer feel sexy or fabulous when i walk out the door. The final straw came when somebody at work asked me if I was pregnant. Oh the shame!

My flat is far too small for excercise equipment and I lack time to to any commited excercise. Dukan worked brilliantly for me for the three weeks I did it, i lost nearly 8lbs in two weeks. Then I fell off the wagon. I love Dukan because it suppressed all those sugary cravings I constantly had at work and the desire to have something grinding against my teeth I always have.

So what now, where do I go and is it healthy for me to do Dukan in moderation or should I stop completely. Bare in mind I have very little self control when a carb passes my lips. I can't stop at a few morsels.Pathetic I know but I really want to control this weight issue before it begins controlling me . Thank you so much in advance xx

I don't think I am the right person to advise you here...
but i found this:
5 ft 5 your healthy weight range should be somewhere between8 st 8 lb -10 st 10 lb

what i wanted to say is that if you need to lose a little to feel better then do but dont give yourself too low a target and stay healthy. I have problems with carbs too - especially sweeter things or pasta and i have to admit dukan has helped me to see the light regarding this. I also have a little less to lose - 8lbs to go, to some its not much but to me it would mean the world so go for it, get your motivation back and follow dukan to retrain your taste buds and get back the appreciation for the tastes of good food but be sensible in terms of your goal. Good luck!

Firstly, your BMI is good, so Dukan isn't for you (sorry!)

However, it's also a case of being happy with your weight and BMI isn't the only indicator but there's lots you can do that isn't as drastic as Dukan (which is for overweight/obese people). The problem with not following through the 4 stages of this diet is that (unfortunately) the weight you have lost on Dukan will go back on - it needs to be stabilised - and if your eating habits go back to as they were pre-diet, even with stabilisation being completed, I would imagine a weight gain anyway.

Walking is free - take your baby out for daily walks, you'll both sleep better, feel better mentally and your fitness and shape will improve, gradually.

Maybe slimming world or similar would work better for you? It's basically a healthy eating plan (ie as a 'normal' person would follow) but you can use a daily allowance for treats/carbs.

Your pre-baby weight probably isn't a realistic target to aim for (nature dictates that we store fat during pregnancy for breastfeeding, etc and we usually don't need this as we have unlimited access to food which wasn't always the case) so bear that in mind too.

Good luck!
