This can't be right!!!!

Tesco rather stupidly didn't deliver my loverly Quorn sausages this week and have given my Tesco Meat Free Lincolnshire sausages instead.

Well I ranted that I'd have to go and buy some because per 2x sausages they were 185 cals and had 11g of fat per two sausages and there's no way that'd be allowed on SW yadder yadder yadder...then it occurred to me that I'd check the syns.

Now my food directory is from 2009 so I looked straight in the syns bit - nothing...the smart syns bit - nope...the free? - no thought not. Dunno what made me look in superfree but I did. The 2009 directory says they're superfree - that CAN't be right.

Could any veggies confirm how I should deal with these please?

Thanks dudes.

No sorry they have changed the recipe since then and they are now 1.5 syns each. There were lots of very upset SW vegetarians around here because they are the best of the veggie sausages around. I still have them now and again as a treat.

Also, the definition of superfree has changed since your book was published. Then it was all foods that are free on red and green so that included meatfree stuff. Now it's only fruit and veg that are free on both plans that count as superfree.

Thanks for clearing that up for me Circes. You know when you just know something isn't right. That's fine though I'll just syn them. Tesco are trying to mess with my mojo again!! I hate waste ..although to be fair my daughter and partner like these ones so they would have gone to a good home.
Thanks again.

still 1.5 syns per sausage isn't bad - how do they taste? better than quorn?

They taste just like real sausages and are nice and herby. My second best is asda meatfree lincolnshire at 1 syn each but they are not nearly as nice as the tesco ones.

We had them this morning for breakfast and my oh was really impressed - he isn't a veggie either so praise indeed!! They are very herby and juicy though. Worth the synnage!!
