New and Scared

So here is a bit about me, alway sbeen a fatty, but when i turned 18 I joined weight watchers, went from 15st to 12st. And 12st suited me quite well I was a size 14, but with a slim face, and flat tummy. Kept it that way for a few years, then it started creeping on, went up to just below 13st, and a size 16. Decided to do lipotrim, lost 30 pounds very quickly!!! Kept most of that off until the beginning of last year, when the weight kept creeping up, I went on hols at 13st 8lb ( depsite constantly dieting and excercising 3 times a week with a pt) camr back from hols 14st 8 and pregnant! baby is now 12 weeks, I had gone up to around 19 stone, though he was 10lb. lost a fair bit first few weeks, fluid etc, got down to 17st 5, started extante at 6 weeks post baby, was doing really well had lost 19 lbs injust under a month even with a bit of cheating. but then two weeks ago we went on hols, then i've had a killer cold, and have gained 7 pounds. my iron has been really low and despite having iron supplements its stayed that way, so i saw dietchef on qvc and decided to try it instead, just can't be bothered at the mo with counting and planning etc etc, at least until i'm healthier.

BUT I'M SCARED
1 WHAT IF THE WEIGHT DOESN'T COME OFF AS FAST AS VLCD SO I GIVE UP?
2 I HAVE TO ADD AROUND 200 KCALS TO THE DIET, BUT WHAT IF I ADD TOO MUCH? I DON'T WANT TO NOT ADD, AS I WANT TO HAVE SOMETHING TO CUT OUT IF AND WHEN WEIGHTLOSS SLOWS.

HOW MUCH HAVE ANY OF YOU LOST AND IN WHAT TIME SCALE?
I AM 16ST 8 AT THE MO AND 5FT 4, WEARING A SIZE 18-20. SO ANYONE SIMILIAR I WOULD MUCH APPRECIATE YOUR ADVICE.

OH AND ALSO ANYONE WANNA BE MY BUDDY, I MAY NEED YOUR NUMBER TO TXT THOUGH WHEN IM REACHING FOR NAUGHTIES.

Hi just read your post and although not exactly the same i have a similar story I have gained weight quickly due too medical probs and always turned too VLCD too get the weight off generally lighter life or similar, but when you start eating food it quickly creeps back on again.
My doctor took me off LL and recommended around 1200/1400 kcals but i hate counting kcals so thought this would be a good option, tried it before and didn,t like some of the food but found the ones i do like so stick too them now.
I am a trained nutritionist so have got my head around the fact that with a 500kcal diet the weight will come off quick but isn,t substainable with this you will lose the weight just alittle slower, should be at around 2lb a week.
If you need help with the extras you may want too add i,ll try too advise and these forums give alot of helpful tips too good luck with your journey x

Hi Moominmomma (love the name)

My experience is similar.

In the past I have successfully lost weight with Weight Watchers -2.5 stone, when I was 23, then with Slimming World I lost 3.5 stone, when I was 27. I managed to lose the weight 'easily', but each time I reached my ideal weight, I was able to maintain this for a couple of years, then decided I was no longer fat and scoffed lots of chocolate and gained the weight and more.

Last month I realised I was 4.5 stone over my ideal weight (aged 31), so I decided to join Diet Chef. I have lost a stone in the last month.

I understand your concerns, you want to get as much weight off, while you are still 100% motivated...... In my opinion WW, SW or DC are going to be a better diet options than a VLCD. The VLCD are more restrictive and punishing. You are more likely to fail with a punishing regime, and could gain weight if you fall off the wagon. This diet will give you lots of variety in food, so hopefully you will not have too many moments of weakness......

Luckily, there have been quite a few new members over the last two weeks, so we can all support each other.

best of luck xx

thanks ladies. currently on day 3 and doing well.. am trying to use up all the shakes for lunches, but find i am still ravenous after them.
i've managed to stay under 1400 kcals each day even with some extras/naughties yesterday had a krispy kreme !!! ( whhoops!) i've lost 1 pound already, so hoping for 3 this week.

Hello!

I've been doing diet chef for couple of months now, nearly 2 stones lighter and starting to feel better in my clothes. I've been out for the odd meal so haven't stuck it 100% as a big part of my social life is eating out, I've tried to have good choices and have plenty of veg.

I'm a bit bored at the minute. I think it's because I have alot of meals in a bowl and miss using a knife and fork!

I've tried to many diets and failed this is the first diet I've done and lost weight, my clothes are starting to look loss and people have commented at work so that's a major boost! I just wish when I look in the mirror I see the difference which other people can!
Try not to compare yourself to other peoples weight loss, I do and it becomes disheartening I've learnt my body is happy with pound off a week and it stays off!
