Hi, I love reading but for some reason I always go for same authors or books already read. Jane green, Marian Keyes, Jill mansell, Sophie kinsella, cathy Kelly, sheila o Flanagan over and over.

Often start a book by another author but don't give it a chance and go back to my old favs as find it too heavy.

I love easy light reading anyone recommend anyone new to stretch me!!

Tried the slap, everyone was raving about it and I just couldn't get in to it xxx

Try Catherine Alliott. 'Rosie Meadows Regrets' is my favorite, but 'Olivia's Luck' comes close. Somewhat written to formula, but very entertaining and makes you laugh out loud in places! I've lifted a review from Amazon for Rosie Meadows below - plenty more where that came from :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect blend of reality and romance!, 31 Mar 2001

This review is from: Rosie Meadows Regrets (Paperback)
'Bridget Jones' got me, a Yank, hooked on light contemporary British fiction. My desperate search led me to Marian Keyes and from there I found Catherine Alliott. I started with "Old Girl Network," which was okay, and "Going Too Far," which almost did, in terms of stretching credulity! But then I read "Rosie Meadows Regrets"...twice.

When I find an author I like, which is difficult, I tend to read their books in chronological order. Often their first book is their best, as they've been polishing it for ten years. But this is a rare treat: watching a writer's product ripen into something juicy, with a blend of flavors. "Rosie Meadows Regrets" is a terrific book! Yes, the ending is a bit predictable, but so are the endings of most "romantic" movies. That doesn't take away from the pleasure.

Do you only read chick lit?

Eureka Street by Robert Mcliam Wilson. Has to be the best book Ive read, sadly not available on Kindle but can be purchased from Amazon.

The subject matter is anything but light, Northern Ireland during the 'troubles', which was enough in itself to make me think twice about buying it, but it was highly recommended so I gave it a go. Could not put it down from the first page, it was both hysterically funny and very dark, but this is not a difficult book to read, you simply will not stop until you have finished it. I lent my copy eventually to someone and havnt had it back, so I may have to bite the bullet and buy another copy, but hoping it will come onto kindle eventually along with Ripley Bogle by the same author.

This is just one of those books that you simply cannot go through life without having read at least twice.

What about Kate Morton "House at Riverton" or "The Forgotten Garden". They are fairly light reading but not chick lit as such. I enjoyed them.

If chick lit is your thing though and you just want another author to try, I remember enjoying Isabel Wolff books a few years ago "The Making of Minty Malone" was one and "the Trials of Tiffany Trott" was another. I can't remember any more but I remember enjoying them although chick-lit isn't something I read very much. Does the heart good from time to time though :D

Lisa Jewell is really good, I find her books are always enjoyable and another author is Melissa Hill. I really enjoyed The last to know by Melissa Hill, it was the first one of hers that I read and I have now read most of her books. xx
