Newbie...:)

Morning everybody!

First time I've joined a weightloss support forum, don't get the support i need from real life so thought i'd give this a go..

A bit about me..

I'm a 23 year old carer from lincolnshire, I am due to get married november 5th this year, being slim has never been on my side throughout my childhood and youth..

I decided to go on the contraceptive implant, piling on 4stone in a year, and then with that was advised to have the contraceptive injection and gained another 2 and half stone.. all of this weight seems impossible to shift!

So no i've reached almost 20stone :( my boyfriend of course, loves me etc etc and all the rest of it..

I've gone on lots of different diets, been a gym bum constantly swimming etc weight watchers slimming world, own diet fads etc..
Recently started tesco ultra slim, does any1 else use it or had any success with it?? The shakes upto now are tastey but sometimes im still left a bit hungry...

Look forward to spending online time with you all xx

hey :)

good luck with your weight loss! I'm sure you can do it, especially with such an amazing event coming up!
it's so hard to keep motivated when you're still hungry isn't it!!
I try and fill up with water...

I'm doing slimfast.. is the tesco one you're doing similar to that? 2 shakes a day and 1 meal?

xx

also I put on a stone on the injection within a few months it's terrible!
I hate that contraception makes us put on weight but we have to use it still! :( means we have to try even harder!! grr! x

yeah you get 2 boxes [1 box = 12 shakes] for 6pounds! bit cheaper for me, cheap is what i need so many diets are so expensive a friend of mine is spending all her spare cash on cambridge diet atm.

its so hard for me to be motivated full stop to be honest my fella loves his food, he enjoys big meals, the works he enjoys meals out and a cuddle, movie and a pizza... he doesnt put weight on though, typical hmph.
going to give this ago, bought some tesco ultraslim crisps to snack on today
i cant fill up on water i really dont like it lol :s

whats ur start weight?? xx

I gave up on the contraceptive implant, injection and went back to the nurse who then said i was too overweight for any contraception :( But the chances of me conceiving wouldnt be likely due to my weight? (19stone or there about) i was heartbroken.. i cried infront of a matron and a nurse.. i felt i wasnt ready for a baby and was trying so hard to lose weight, they were not very empathetic at all it just crushed me :(
i have an allergy to latex too :( and those latex free? theyre like crisp packets! urgh.

ohh 6 pound is good! I started slimfast as the tins are half price at the moment in boots lol reckon I'll transfer to tesco when they go full price tho!

sucks that u hate water! I don't think u can have juice either on these meal replacements? :-/

my starting weight was 14st 8 and I'm now 14.3.

do you have a target weight?

Not really, i don't even have any scales lol so i'd just like to get to a size 20, then keep aiming for a lower dress size.

ATM i am 22/24

my friend did cambridge diet, which i do believe is 2 shakes and a meal also but very expensive - she lost a stone in 10days... can't tell at all though tbh :s i wanna be able to tell! lol

that is awful!! nurses are suppose to help! have you googled other types of contraception? I think docs try and get you in n out ASAP and can't be bothered to try and help when it comes to contraception! x

haha I would hate that! after all that work trying to lose it I'd be gutted if u couldn't see a difference lol.

I wouldn't spend loadsa money on dieting.. sure it can't be that different to tesco & slimfast?! xx

i can have the coil, but i don't wish to.. i know it doesnt happen a lot but my friend had a coil and with sex it got pushed inside her and she had to have a major op she was in so much pain it has put me off ,they wont give me any pills or anything now they said im 2 heavy...

so me and matty talked about it he said if we end up pregnant, we're ready for it...:s would like not to have a baby though just yet so much i wanna do! lol x

I think that's terrible! must be pretty stressful knowing u aren't ready for a baby yet if u use a condom it's Gunna feel like it's tearing u to shreds! latex condoms feel scratchy to me so latex free ones must be awful!! stupid docs!!

haha cambridge sounds a rip off!! tesco all the way!!

no cambridge diet is pretty much an expensive version of tesco ultra slim - we sat and read out our ingredients etc lol

It's not actually. Cd is a VLCD with NO food. Ultra slim is not a VLCD and you have a meal with it. The losses on ultra slim are less than cd etc

Your friend who lost a stone probably lost a lot of water weight, soon you'll be able to tell the difference. :)

My hubby is very thin and never puts on weight either! He probably burns more calories in his sleep than I do when I'm working out with a 200 heartrate... I know how you feel!

If you are not such a fan of water, then I might suggest adding a lemon flavor to it, or having it very very cold, which helps for me. I have well water where I live and I do not like it very much, so I add flavoring to it called Crystal Light, which comes in like 20 different flavors and has no calories. I don't know if Crystal Light is a big thing over in Europe though, but it would be worth a try to ask around, because the more water you take in the less hungry you will be, and the more weight you will lose.

I also understand what you mean about getting support in real life. My husband has never struggled with being overweight, so he does not quite understand my journey as well as my parents do (they have struggled with weight and are both dieting as well). When I lived with my parents it was a little easier to stay on track, but my hubby occasionally orders pizzas and loves candy, and it's hard not to resist sometimes! And when I tell him, "hey guess what, I lost two pounds!" He goes "wow." xD He's not at all mean about it, but having never needed to lose weight himself, he doesn't quite feel my excitement. Meanwhile if I text my mom about my weight loss, she'll be all "YAY! Good for you!"

So glad you have a man who loves you for you. I have dated somebody in the past who was always commenting on how I looked and tried to control what I ate, was always suggesting I try a diet. This was NOT motivating for me in any way, shape or form. Having somebody who doesn't notice if I gain 10 lbs and tells me I'm beautiful either way is such a nice thing, because that means I lose weight because I want to. The folks on minimins have been extremely helpful and encouraging, and it's nice to be able to log on every day or every other day.

Definitely stick around, we are here to root you on! :party0011:

Also, Stacey, Matt may say you are ready, but if you do not think you are, then you need to tell him that straightaway. I strongly advise that you use protection + lubrication, which prevents condoms from breaking. (sorry for the personal content, but you should not keep quiet about how you feel about having a baby, let your feelings be known!)

Its a huge thing, i think im ready? does anybody know theyre ready for sure unless it happens? lol :) we're prepared anyhow, just enjoy going away and days out etc lol.

my friend is to eat one meal per day and have 2 shakes on the CD, as am I on the tesco one, i cant afford the cd thats my problem or ww, or sw, ive tried them all and for me personally they did not work and i ended up wasting so much money.
with the tesco one i dont mind results being slow, its something i personally am really pleased with it suits my low budget xx
