will hit target this time
Love my mashed potato but hate using my syns on butter/milk for it..

Was wondering how you lovely people did yours? I like it nice and creamy, and preferably so my boyfr won't notice that it's SW friendly ;)

Thanks guys!! Xxx

I use a potato ricer to get mash without lumps then add either a little water or quark.

I use plenty of salt & pepper and one or two heaped tablespoons of fat free fromage frais or fat free yoghurt to cream it up.

Or sometimes I add wholegrain mustard, lemon juice or spices/herbs, even caramelised onion or something to flavour it if I don't need gravy-style mash. You can make really interesting mash like this :)

yea i've been looking for mash ideas too. I'd say fat free yoghurt would work to make it creamy

I know it's not syn free but I add a bit of extra light Mayo in mine but I also use a potato ricer. Cost £10 in john lewis and it's fab!

Last night I made a new mash recipe. Put the potatoes on, while they were cooking put 2-3 cloves garlic, about 10 basil leaves, 2 heaped tbsp 0% Total greek yoghurt, splash of water and plenty of salt & pepper in my whizzer. Also chopped about 5 more basil leaves and put to one side.

Then when the potatoes were done I mashed them with this liquid mix and a few squirts Fry Light Buttery, then when done stirred in the rest of the chopped basil with a fork.

Was yum! Although came out a bit of a luminous green colour with all the basil :D Next time I'd just use just 1-2 cloves garlic, a bit less basil and probably chuck in a tablespoon or so of lemon juice.

wow thanks for all the ideas guys, plenty to go at there for my mash experiments :D defs gonna try the potato ricer idea, i have one i don't know why i never use it haha :) thanks again!! xx
