Evening all.

Ive just made some lovely biscuits out of an accidental recipe! we have our porrige at night and last night Steve didnt put enough milk in his so it was super thick, wouldnt even drop of the spoon! I made it into biscuit shapes and baked for 10-15mins and voila crunchy biscuits!! we had cinnamon in ours very yummy!

2 tbspns of oatbran
1 tbsp wheatbran
sweetner to taste
cinnamon to taste
enough milk to make a stiff consistancy
heat as usual in the microwave mix, shape into biscuits and bake!

this made 4 biscuits

This could be a great thing for me! I'm really missing the 'crunch' on this diet. Thanks

i just made some more  and added an extra tbsp of wheatbran and some ginger, made them really thin and they were lovely and crunchy to.

im not sure what they would be like if you left them a day, we did let them go cold and they were just as crunchy but i think they may possibly go soft if left, good excuse to eat them all though!

sory keep editing! turn them over and put back in the oven for another 10 mins, i had the oven on gas 160

Just running out the door to work but had to quickly come on here and say OMG these were lovely! I made them this morning and had them for breakfast, and really loved them. I used no flavouring so they were just nice, crunchy, oat biscuits and lovely warm from the oven. I'm tempted tomorrow to make them into 4 biscuits and have 2 at breakfast, then the other two through the day (may not be as nice later on, but I think they'll be a great snack about 3pm when I'm flagging and everyone else is reaching for the chocolate bar/crisps)

Thank you!!

Enjoyed these as well! Made them yesterday and can you believe I spread to 7 biscuits?? I like to drag out the experience :)! I also like it as a different way to get my oat bran allowance without the calories and fat of an egg in the gallette.

Am making the Toffee Cupcakes though today (my new fave) & will use up my oatbran allowance on them.

Sod it, instead of my galette after dinner tonight, I am going to make some of these! Will go lovely with a cup of coffee/tea after dinner. :)

so glad you all like them! not bad for an accidental recipe lol i just had the very last one from the first lot i made, it has been left out in the kitchen for a couple of days and it was still crunchy. It was thicker than the 2nd batch i made but it was nice dunked in my tea! so now i know that they will last a couple of days at least without going soft

And I love the fact that I actually feel as if I've had a 'treat' so I stop craving the bad stuff like a chocolate bar. It almost feels as if I'm cheating ha!

I also love that it doesn't contain eggs as I'm eating quite a lot of eggs at the moment and TRY to cut back on the yolk.

I can not tell you enough how glad I am you made your porridge wrong :)

I can't believe I am on the sofa watching CSI and eating crunchy oaty gingery biscuits that took 15 minutes to make and cook!

Jess how on earth did you get 7 biscuits, i could barely manage 3 out of my mixture. I want 7 haha

I made these and they were AMAZING. Didn't come out very crispy, but still hit the spot. :)

either make them a bit thinner or turn them over and cook for another 5-10 mins my last lost were super crispy and still are even though they have been left out over night

i was thinking of maybe doing some a little thicker and leaving out the sweetner then using them as crackers, will let you know how i get on

Haha I'm not even on dukan (was mooching about as some friends are and wanted to decipher all the PV PP attack chatter I've been hearing!) but these were lovely so thanks! I have porridge for breakfast most mornings but on weds it's so rushed in morning I never have time an just grab a banana! Now I can eat my porridge as I drive to the office!! Yay!!

I have added lots of black pepper before - a bit like oatcakes.
