Considering slimming world - a hello and some questions!

Hi, I am thinking of joining this week. I did WW years back when it was normal points but when I went back they changed it to ProPoints and it just not working.

I was thinking slimming world would work because its not a huge change from what I eat anyway - when I am being good, that is :) We normally have batchelors rice and ainsley harriot couscous and wholemeal pasta with chicken or fish so I am thinking it will be easy to do without making my husband moan too much about it!

I think I am going to do red and green because I like the idea of having 2 healthy extras from A and B.

For my A's would it be OK to have things like laughing cow light wedges, philly extra light tubs, mini babybel lights and those little mini cheeses they sell individually wrapped?

And my B's am I allowed to have wholemeal bread or just the ww bread? Are all clear soups B's? And of course my alpen lights :)

The bit I am confused about & I suppose I will learn more when I sign up, but are extra low fat supernoodles and mugshots free even when you are doing red days? I wont have them all the time, just when I am hungover haha

I dont know if I am going to do online or meetings yet either!

Anyway hello to everyone. I hope this works!!

Laughing Cow and Mini Babybel lights are absolutely fine for your As - 3 Mini Babybel light, and I think it's 5 Laughing Cow light, but I could be wrong. The mini cheeses would be ok depending on the type of cheese and how much they weigh - I think some people do use these to save cutting and weighing off a full block of cheese. Not sure about Philly extra light, I think Philly can be a B on Green days and I'm sure I've read somewhere (possibly the new mag?) that it's now an A choice on all plans.

And my B's am I allowed to have wholemeal bread or just the ww bread? Are all clear soups B's? And of course my alpen lights :)

Any wholemeal bread (400g loaf) is fine. Be careful with the WW bread, it's still only the wholemeal that you can use as a B! You can have two Alpen Lights for a B. Not sure on the soups I'm afraid!

The bit I am confused about & I suppose I will learn more when I sign up, but are extra low fat supernoodles and mugshots free even when you are doing red days? I wont have them all the time, just when I am hungover haha

Noodles and mugshots will both have to be synned on Red days. Most mugshots are free on Green though, again not sure on the supernoodles I'm afraid!

Hope that helps a bit!

Thanks! So if I have 2 slices of the alinsons wholemeal does that count as one B? That one is OK on ww thats why I ask...

I will probably do more red days as I love meat and fish. Is it OK to have slices of ham or roast beef from the butchers (not the processed stuff) if I am hungry or can you only have snacks of fruit and mullers in between meals?

Seems like so much info to get your head around but I guess the original ww points plan was like that at first too and after a bit it was easy.

I really hope this works for me!!

Hi poppy :)

Extra Easy might be better for you if you want to keep up the meat, fish --and carbs. You can still have one lot of a and b, which is enough for me. Might be something worth checking?

Good luck whichever route you choose x

So long as it's a small (400g) loaf, then that should be fine :)

That's fine on Red days. On Extra Easy, it's recommended that you snack on superfree food (fruit and non-starchy veg), and if you can do that on Red/Green days then that'll probably help your losses along, but you're ok to snack on meat if that's what you want to do!

Once it clicks, it's easy! It must be difficult switching from one plan to another - I was fortunate in that the only slimming plan I've ever done is SW, so I didn't have as many different habits to get out of!
