Hi,

I am not going as regular to the toilet for No 2s - any advice on this - is this normal on CD SS?

Thanks

it is normal... ur not eating solid food so u don't need to go as often(that's what my cdc told me). that's as long as ur not constipated.

hi hun, yeah, deffo normal but like Linda said as long as you're not constipated. If you have a problem actually GOING then you may need Pysillium Husks, you can get them from most health stores like Holland and Barratt but check out others as H&B can be quite expensive.

You get a huge tub for about £8 and you mix 2 tea spoons with water or your shakes twice a day...they are little bitty things without taste...(they smell a bit though). They are fibre and will help keep you regular, rather than taking a laxative ( unless you are STUCK:eek:) NOT NICE :(

I use P. husks every day and I've been ok after having a PROBLEM at the beginning of CD.

Good Luck Nicola xx sj xx

Hi - I might get something then as feel slightly constipated, it is difficult as not sure how to tell really in comparison to how I should feel on the diet - if you know what I mean?

It's deffo normal to feel the way you are...it's not nice but it is norma. We all react in different ways...some even get the TROTTS!!!! nice :D
I had the same problem as you and bought laxatives....I took the tablet which takes 8 hours to work and 5 mins later I actually went naturally so later on I had quite bad pains...I think most laxatives can do that to you though.

Pysillium WHOLE husks (not tablet form) are a form of PREVENTION, if you are stuck you may need a laxative and then when you are SORTED take the husks twice daily.

hope you feel better soon hun, it's horrible at the start of CD as you are unsure about lots of things...I got loads of help and info. from this forum, there is always someone there to give advice etc... so stick with the threads like glue, they will help you through hun.

Hi Nicola,

Bowel movement becomes less fequent on the diet than on ordinary fod and this is quite natural.

Changing your diet can lead to constipation or in some cases the runs.

However, if you tend to suffer from discomfort due to constipation drink even more.

I myself have found in the first week I do need a little extra help, I find Dulco-Lax works for me and I also like to use fibre 89 a teaspoonful a day.

I think we all have our favourites as to what works best for us...from Senokot to Pysillium Husks.:sick0019:

I use psyllium husk every shake/soup I have, I manage to go everyday - not alot to come out but stops me feeling uncomfortable.

Hi..

Both hubby and i have in the past had problems with going to the loo, either too hard or watery ( hope not too graphic, lol )
we have both found that gylcerin suppositories are the best, and for us the other stuff gives us belly aches and cramps..

hope things return to normal soon..
