Accidental Soup!

I was planning on making Split Pea and Bacon soup for lunch tomorrow.
But I didn't have any bacon and I'd already soaked the split peas.

So I chucked a chopped onion, a chopped red pepper, one carrot, 200g (dry) split peas, big pinch of herbs de Provence and a big peck of smoked Paprika. 2 pints of strong stock
Brought to boil and simmered for 1 hour, whizzed with the stick blender and it tastes blimmin lovely!
Trying not to eat it tonight!
 
Necessity is the mother of invention. And brilliant new recipes. :)
