Because I knew it was coming this am I didn't have normal brekkie. So I just had the vanilla shake......I really struggled it get it down I must admit. I made the mistake of just using tap water. I did put some ice in after and that made it a bit better. I've put a big bottle of water in the fridge now for the next time.

I've got a head ache to..... Ugh!

Onwards and upwards though xx

My first day was yesterday and i felt the same about the shake, i was just having a gulp of it everynow and then through out the day cos i couldn't force it all down, i think you get used to it though cos today it seems to taste better (deffo once it's been in the fridge for a while lol) :D

You need to drink it within 15 mins of making it up or it starts deteriorating

I just had the veg soup. Nuf said lol.

It want that bad really, having little bits in was quite nice actually.

Wish this headache would go

Xx

You can have painkillers to get rid of any headaches. Keep at it - this is the worst bit, it gets better :D

Thanks Jen that's good to know. I'll grab some round the shop when I collect the children from school. x

I am on Lipotrim diet and I find strawberry shake delicious, it leaves a nice taste in my mouth. I know Lipotrim is slightly expensive, but there aren't many people who complain about the headaches. No affliation with the organisation who markets this product just a happy user:D

Everything starts to get easier when you go into ketosis. You will find your tastes in the shakes, soups and bars may change the longer you are doing it. I started off liking all of the shakes bar the chocolate and not being fond of any of the soups bar the mushroom.

I now hate the mushroom soup with passion and really don't like any of the shakes. And that has slowly evolved over the last 12 weeks.

The products haven't changed, my tastebuds have. I was a bit of a sugar junkie prior to starting this diet. Now I feel the shakes taste quite sweet - I was recently in a shop and I had to leave because I felt physically ill at the sweet smell in the shop. All positive signs that the diet is helping to retrain me - good for maintenance time I feel.

Hi Rachel and Elemental, I just got my pack and started today also, here's hoping we all do well and can maybe help each other through any bumpy patches.... have to say I am a bit worried because I tried a chocolate orange bar earlier and found it (literally!) hard to swallow. I tried taking wee bits at a time and washing down with wtaer but just could not get through an entire bar. So I gave up and tried the veg soup instead and it went down well, was quite tasty. I am hoping the shakes are ok I havent got that far yet, don't fancy being on soup all day every day lol... Later tonight I am going to start a diary, once my little boy has gone to bed. The worst bit of the day has still to come for me I think, cos my dad is taking round some shiny new scales and I have to weigh myself, I know I am over 18stone but could be a lot more than that.... no chickening out though!! !)

Thanks for your messages.

I'm hoping I'll grow to like the different flavours. The one I think I'll like the least is vanilla and so that's why I tried that first cos I figured it can't get any worse lol! It wasnt actually that bad, I'm not really a milk shake person and it was the consistency that I didn't like more than anything.

If we keep each other going it should be plain sailing. I just had a nibble off the end of one of the bars because the soup kept repeating on me and it tasted ok but I thought it was also a bit hard to swallow, it's a bit dry. But I'm really looking forward to eating it all later!

I'm going to aqua fit tonight, that should keep my mind off it for an hour or so.

hi just like to mention i don,t drink tea coffe or milk i did think i,d struggle with the shakes so i got straws to drink it through i only started yesterday and it,s all good so far good luck to you all

I had the same thing with the bars to start with too - so I halved the bar and ate it separately during the day with a big glass of water.

Again that's changed - I eat a whole bar each day for lunch and enjoy both of them. I didn't particularly enjoy either of them to start with but I like both of them now.

I too drink the shakes with a straw so that can drink them quickly.

Try the vanilla hot, either on its own or with coffee added :)

Well I am supping a banana shake now, its not too bad, quite bland but the texture isnt quite as bad as I imagined it might be.... just passed my first hurdle of the day, made tea for my 6 year old and didnt pick at it at all... then sent him out to the ice-cream van and didn't get anything for myself. He tried to give me his half-eaten cone and i told him to put it in the sink! Am feeling quite virtuous as I was dreading the ice-cream van coming round.... but still only day one :devilangel:

That was my scariest hurdle, i have to make my son's packed lunch and tea and i'm a terrible picker, but so far i've been 100% good! And just went food shopping with the hubby and let him get the food while i looked at make up :D and bought some ketostix!!!

Well done you! I nicked some ketostix from my brother who is diabetic. I have had a hard time explaining to him why I would want to go into ketosis because for most of his life ketones have been bad news, a sign his medication is out of kilter. I want to be in ketosis, he tries desperately to stay out of it! But he has always been skinny anyway

Crazy stuff isn't it  I got a sympathetic look from the ladies in the chemist telling me i could get them free on prescription from the doctor - but i don't get free prescriptions because i'm not diabetic lol ..... luckily i didn't have to explain, people don't respond well to this i've noticed ....hubby is in cooking his tea now but i'm going to make him sit and face the wall while he eats it...then i'll go and make my soup which i hope isn't too ghastly, after trying the bouillion and dr pepper zero it's made me avoid the packs i'm supposed to eat (whoops) too much of a good thing .....

I normally like frappes. If I add a little coffee to a vanilla shake it might be nice. Not sure coffee would "melt" though??

I can't stand coffee. But next time I have a vanilla shake I will try it hot.

I read a thread a lady posted about all the different things you can do with the soups etc like making crisps and muffins, but I can't find it now, does anyone have a link to it please?

I'm glad to have got through my first day, when ever I diet the second day is always worse for me so I expect to be like a bear with a sore head tomorrow.

Everyone sounds like they are doing really well. I'm so impressed.

Roll on tomorrow!!! Xxx
