Hi, I have been on sw for a few months now. I've noticed ww now do pro points, this seems very similar to sw. Please can someone tell me the difference. Also has anyone chosen ww over sw? Would be interested to hear ur views, x

Hi there,
Ive just moved over from sw (But im probably not a good example as ive been faffing around for a couple of months now) i did the old ww points then kept running out of points so did sw, then tried the new pro points when they came out at ww but i didnt have the pack so struggled and went back to sw but ive now got the info through the post for ww and a friend is doing it with me so we can spurr each other on hopefully il stick to it
are you considering a change:)

the only similarities is that fruit & most veg dont have to be counted, i think ww is more portion controlled although you can have whatever foods you want within points

Hi, yes possibly looking to change. Need to find my motivation so was thinking ww could be what I need. Just trying to weigh up the pro's and cons

in national papers like the sun there are cut out coupons for ww free regestration & some have free first meeting, you could go along & get all your info books for free, also use these boards for question & also the ww site as you can access the community message board for free

with PP you have an allocated amount of points dependent on your age, sex, height and weight which changes as you loose weight.
You can use the points as you choose but the no brainer is if you choose healthier options etc the points are generally lower, so you can eat more etc etc.
fruit is free, veg free, diet juice etc free, and some others, the rest you have to point.
You also have a 49pp safety net to last the week if you have days where the daily allowance just wont do. There are numerous discussions about to use or not to use every week. They are described as a safety net by WW so I tend not to use unless I need to :)
I find pp convenient and flexible and easy to have a bad day and still stay within my boundaries. It does help learn portion control and teach god eating habits :)
I've been on a diet similar to SW and to be totally honest, while it worked, I found it didn't help change my eating habits when off it.

I did SW for a long time and got sick of the same foods eg beans and baked potato and mug shots etc! I really missed bread and pizzas and with WW I can have these foods as long as I point them. I save my 49 weekly points for nights out and the best thing is nothing is a SYN!!! X Hope this helps xx

I've come over to ww from sw, for me the main reason was portion control, when a diet says pasta is unlimited I will eat it all day! Also I struggled when I didn't have time to cook from scratch, now I can pop something in the microwave if I really need to without it being a syn!

As twinkle said, you can eat on the go if you really need to without it being a syn. Sw is difficult for eating out I found.
