Struggling

I'm really struggling at the moment and I dont know why! I don't restrict myself, so I am not deprived but yet I still feel the need to binge!

Today is day three and I am already down to 20 weekly points with two parties planned for this weekend!

I really dont know how to dig myself out of this hole and get back into it! I know if I carry on much longer I'm going to give up for good and then I'll be back to where I was before plus some, I really dont want that!

Can you give us some examples of what you're binging on? Maybe we can come up with healthier alternatives that will satisfy the same cravings? :)

For a lot of people the first week is the hardest. Its the first time you've had to say no to the biscuits/crisps etc and it can be more difficult than you thought.

It's not my first week, I've been doing this since Feb! I had Easter 'off' as we were with family and i just havent been able to get back into it since.

I'm binging on crisps, chocolate, anything really i can get my hands on! I had 17 extra points last night for no reason!

Oh I'm sorry. I read you were on day 3 and thought you meant day 3 of the diet.

When are you eating the extra points? Is it when you're sitting watching TV and you're bored? If so, try doing something with your hands like knitting or sitting with the laptop so you're not looking for something for your hands to do.

The other thing (and it's what I do but may not work for you depending on your circumstances) is just not to have any of those things in the house. The only chocolate I have in the house at any given time are KitKats. Because I absolutely know I'd gorge myself if I had dairy milks etc.

It's so so difficult getting back into it when you've had a break. Your body gets back into the habit of having high fat foods and snacking, but if you literally can't sit and not snack make sure it's Snack a Jacks and Curly Wurlys instead of crisps and Snickers bars.

Another option is to try a detox week. Don't eat ANY chocolate or high sat fat items. Cleansing your body will stop it craving these 'bad for you' items. And you'll feel so good at the end that you won't want to pile the grease back into yourself. Sometimes when we nibble on these things our body doesn't react so badly when we gorge on them, but if you neglect them completely they'll come as a 'horrible' shock to your system when you do finally have them. :)

another idea for you

Hi, I lost it for a bit, head all over the place. Now in a good place but find the supermarket is not my friend.....well not yet. Try shopping on line from a healthy shopping list. This way you are not tempted by thos bad things that got us here! Good luck :)
