Back from the drs :-(

Hiya, I posted yesterday to get an idea to see if Xenical would suit me.

Well I've just come back from the drs feeling so patronised and being spoke to like I was thick! She confirmed all my worries about going to the drs about weight issues.

She has told me I need to eat healthy, only treat myself to "naughty" foods a couple of times a week, eat fruit & veg and exercise 3 times a week... Oh and eat from a smaller plate!! Wow!! If only I had thought of these things before!!!

She wants me to have a blood test too to rule out any other reasons for weight gain. My blood pressure was slightly raised and my bmi is 33 :-(

She wants me to go back in a months time after trying these things. I told her that that depressed me as I try all these things but lack motivation etc. She said she didn't want to rush getting me straight on any medication :-((((

there is the option of buying alli, if you really think it will help..
if not try what the dr has said, and maybe try joining a slimming club.. i know i found it more motivational when i started slimming world.

I feel that you GP said what she did as she needs to follow the path before prescribing xenical to you. My GP is aware of my losing weight last yr on Lipotrim which I had to stop due to medical reasons which I wont go into right now but I've got to go and see him in few wks about the same but the thing is he's asked me to go and see him as we had discussed the matter.
Do as your GP advised and keep a diary of everything you do (wake up/ cleaning/ walking etc) and eat (including ingredient and weight/ measurement). So when you do go back in a month's time your GP can go through it and see which next step to take.
Hope this helps and good luck with your journey xx

i can imagine how disheartened you must feel, but in all honesty, i think your doctor has acted more responsibly than a lot that i've heard of on here. better that than what my doc done, i asked, she gave and sent me on my way, never told me a thing about them.
good luck with the weightloss in the next few weeks, and good luck when you go back xxx
