eeek Bacon PP disaster

Made a bit of a boo boo today. Fancied bacon and eggs for lunch so my boyfriend went and bought some Bacon. I had already pointed everything and was under the impression Bacon was 1pp as it says in my books. it wasnt til after I ate that I noticed the calories on the pack and put it through my calc and saw it was 6pp which means I only have 5pp left for the day. I'm reluctant to go into my weeklies today as I went into them a lot yesterday. Not a happy bunny but never mind.just thought I would warn you all

i always count bacon as 1pp per rasher but 4 rashers = 6pp, is that wrong?

i therefore have bacon medallions, cost more money but 4 meds = 3 points

Well that's what I was told and then I noticed the bacon I had was 240cals for 2 which I thought was high so I double checked and it came out as 3pp each. I'm not sure if its because it was thick cut bacon or because of the fat. But I always cut it off any way. My friend said as long as I didn't eat the fat I could still count it as 1pp but I kept it at 3pp just incase and next time I'll make sure its thinner bacon.

Thats interesting...I've always just put a rasher of bacon into the eSource and it's given me 1pp each (I trim off the fat) or 3 rashers for 4pp. Am a bit concerned now I've been pointing it wrong all this time.

the book says 2 for streaky and 1 for lean back (obviously with the biggest part of the fat removed)

The NV's will be for the product as-is, so if you are cutting off the fat you can subtract at least 1pp, maybe even 2 from that.

6pp for 1 piece, or even 2 seems VERY high...? you sure that's not maybe the 100g part you've pointed rather than a slice?

Nope definitely 6pp for 2 as it had the 100g values then next to that the values per 2 slices. It may only be for that particular brand of bacon that was from Tesco

aw thats a bummer... i'll be mindful the next time I buy bacon

I usually buy the ww bacon, as someone has already said it costs a bit ore but you know exactly where you stand with it
