Exercise Ideas

Spring Challenge!
If you dont find time to fit in a half an hour walk into your daily tasks what do you do instead?

Is 30 minutes stepping equivalent? I think there are some days that I might find it difficult to complete a 30 minute walk after/before working hours. Are other forms of exercise allowed?

Please bear with me, my book has been despatched this morning - I hope to receive it in the next couple of days =)

I just get of the tube/bus one or two stops earlier, and walk the extra before work, dropping into the supermarket or coffee shop on the way. Really nice now the sun is out.

Ive got to ask how youd have time for 30mins step and not a walk?

The walk is as good for our head as it is your body for cobweb cleaning.

Other forms of exercise are certainly encouraged, anything to make us more active, but do try and fit the walk in too, can you go for a stroll at lunchtime?

Can it be done in small quantities throughout the day? I am on my feet almost all day at work. I work in a school providing technical support.

Well, I'm afraid I interpreted it more flexibly - if you are already active then that's very good, I'm amazed how many people get in the car even for a 5 minute walk equivalent!
I don't always get out for a walk at lunchtime but I walk the kids to school and cycle to work, and decided that this is okay (for me). Basically what he is saying is to incorporate some exercise into your day, but it does not have to be an exercise class. And when you get the book - make sure to read the last (or so) chapter which has exercises, I missed that until I was past Conso! Meanwhile I had started my own slightly different exercises.

And yes the walking is a very good excuse to get out and away from my desk at lunchtime. This morning I jogged back from school - not a massive distance, and I was out of breath but not dying when I got home, but was amazed with myself that I can do that now!

Call me dumb, but I merely set my alarm 30 mins earlier in the morning! Then a further 30 mins.

I now sleep far less than in my "previous (aka fat) life"...

And I walk an hour to work every day (it's not raining; I do cold, just not rain!!)
