Hi, my names Julie and I had my first weigh in today, managed 3.5lbs, not as much as I had hoped for but its a loss and I'm really happy about that, I've been trying to do it on my own and I was completely hopeless at it, hence why I started at a group, so fingers crossed this will work for me, what am I saying :D I know it will if I stick to it!!

Was wondering if anyone who was diabetic went on with their losses and how the diet works for them? I'm Type 2 and controlling it with diet and regular testing etc.

Wow just read it back and boy do I waffle lol!

Hi Julie, Hope you will find SW more to your liking as I see you were with W8 for quite a while. What was it that made you change..if you don't mind my asking?

Hope you will get a good result with this programme.
I have been DB type2 for quite a few years on diet control and strive to keep my carbs as low as poss but not always successful. However, my nurse at my last checkup was very pleased with my weight loss which has helped to improve things a great deal.

Wish you all success for your future journey ... :)

Hi Emmaline,
I stopped doing W8 quite a while ago, the weight loss was good but it was hard and expensive and as soon as I stopped the weight gradually went back on!

I was only diagnosed in Dec, like you, I'm trying to keep the carbs low, I really am determined to get this weight off as I know it can help the diabetes and other health issues. I have seen what can happen in the later stages of diabetes (my dad) and I'm determined it won't happen to me.

Good news over your check up, it does make it worthwhile when your told what your doing is working, have you noticed a difference since you lost weight in how you feel and your blood sugars? Sorry hope I'm not been too personal.

Keep up your fantastic weight loss.

Juliex
