Help - Does Exante work? Gained!!!

Hello, can anyone help me please?
I started TFRs nearly 3 weeks ago. The first two I used Lipotrim and lost 18lbs (yeah!!) and i then switched to Exante as it is cheaper and I am fed up with the trek to the pharmacist with my twin babies in tow!
I am 5 days into Exante and I know I shouldn't have, but i got on the scales this morning and I have GAINED 1lb!!!! :cry:How can this happen? I haven't cheated at all - stuck to it 100%! Any ideas folks?

Keep off the scales til your weekly weigh in. I bet they'll show a loss x

I have done Juice Fast and water fast in the past. Usually for me a gain would be sorted out with a enema. (they are very recommended in the fasting/detox world)

I understand that this is a meal replacement program. Drastic is ones perception. Enemas need not to be feared, it just a bag and water.:)

I'm with starlight on this one..stay off the scales till your first week is up as your body is adjusting still...As for enemas..mmm.. what a crock of s*** (pardon the pun) they only give a temprary loss and defo not something i would suggest to anyone to rush in to...
I suppose each to their own though jersey xx

honey if you checkk my first diary i also gained the middle of the first week but by the first weigh in i had lost 9lb! dont let it get you down and hide the scales till weigh in! my are in the boot of hubbys car lol

I don't fancy the enema route, either, and I have read several medical articles that say they can destroy the flora in the bowel or some such (don't quote me!). Why not a good but safer occasional dose of dulco-lax or some other gentle laxative? Or simply adding fibre to the exante packs by means of psyllium husk (will make shakes and soups thicker, smoother and much more satisfying) or drinking soluble fibre in your water/fluid allowance?

If the problem is lack of bulk in the bowel - and on VLCDs this is very common - why not add the bulk rather than flush out the poor bowel with water?

Nature built us so that water etc CANNOT penetrate the bowel in normal circumstances ie when in the bath or swimming pool. Washing it out is surely an unnatural process and any weight lost as a result will absolutely not be subcutaneous body fat!

Indeed, to each their own. I know many swear by regular enemas but I don't think they are necessary or even all that helpful in weight loss. Please by all means continue to flush out if it suits you!

Good luck anyway hun and don't fret on such a low daily calorie allowance you are definitely losing fat x

Sorry I think I should have explained better. I was not suggesting a enema for weight loss, as in a diet aid. More as a aid to help clear back up waste accumulated from your bowels getting accustomed to the new way of eating. They have also been reported to help with the hunger you feel the first couple of days you start a new diet.

I did not mean to offend anyone and apologise it I did so. :)

Hey, no offence caused at all! Just watch out for those flora... ha ha x

Thanks ladies for your helpful comments. Weigh in is tomorrow so I will let you know if i end up with a loss :)

Im excited to find out now :)

Ok weigh in day.
1st week on Exante (3rd on TFR's - week 1&2 Lipotrim) = stayed exactly the same :-(

I have done LT in the past and lost weight every single week. I don't know why I have not lost anything on Exante
Feeling a bit fed up
Has anyone used their customer care ? was thinking of emailing them to see if they had any suggestions.
Am having 2 shakes and 1 bar, lots of coffee and water - nothing else :-(

Aww red i know it must seem very disheartening when you STS..but if you look through peoples signatures there are a lot of people that have STS then gone on to have a really good loss the following week ..Your into the 3rd week of TFR so your metabolism might have slowed somewhat...Have you had the tape measure out??? Some times a Non Scale Victory like losing inches etc can help keep you focused

Stay on the wagon huni and dont use it as a reason to give up..its just a little blip and i'm sure your loss on your next WI will be great....good luck xxx

I have not used there customer service yet, but interested if you do. Can you let us know how the experience is?

Now I am new to exante to but after reading a lot here and other places a stall is when you STS for two weeks. Some post on here said when they STS they had a AM from WS and it helped them lose.

I don't plan to weigh in for a month as I get very discouraged at low or none moving numbers. Maybe that might help you now to weigh in every two weeks or something.

Do feel better. I have dieted a lot before and know how STS feels.:)

Thanks Guys! Feel a bit better now, need to look at the bigger picture rather than this week alone. So i will give it another week and hopefully will see some movement! Just hard to imagine that you are in ketosis for a week without some fat burning going on !

I emailed customer services this morning so hopefully they will get back to me on Monday when they are open.

try to leave the bars alone as they have more carbs and slightly more cals just stick to shakes and soup for a week and see how u go , good luck.
