day 2-no weight loss :( :(

So yesterday was day 1, which I found tricky enough, but I really tried, and as far as I know I didnt do anything very wrong. Having read about other peoples losses, imagine my extreme disappointment when I stepped on the scales this morning and there was no weightloss at all. I am already really disillusioned and I know that if the same thing happens tomorrow I will probably give up- I need to see at least some result because being such a carb queen I really do feel like Im denying myself. Im feeling pretty down about it. This is my first day back to work today and itll be harder not to succumb to temptation here.

ARE YOU EATING ENOUGH ?????
dont let youself feel deprived of food ...... the carb craving will leave in a week , as for the weight loss some people dont for the first couple of days then it falls off in a big chunk

It's still pretty early in the diet and your weight may well start to move soon. I know that many people like to weigh themselves every day, but I really feel that it's not such a great idea - it just makes you more paranoid about fluctuations or not losing weight.

If I were you, I'd give it a chance since you've only just started.

Are there any factors which might make losing weight more difficult for you - hormonal, illness, long dieting history, previous low carb diets, etc? Are you experiencing transit issues (constipation can hide weight loss)?

If you're not already posting your daily menus, then it's a good idea to do so. Then we might be able to pinpoint any potential problem areas.

If I remember rightly, you mistakenly bought something else instead of oatbran and have been eating Muller cheesecake yoghurts, along with carb free syrups. Unfortunately, these won't have helped. Once you get into the swing of eating proper Dukan foods, you may well find it makes a big different to your weight loss.

Thanks for your advice. It wasnt me who mentioned the carb-free syrups, but I did ahve a spoonful and a half of oats, and only one muller yoghurt, because I heard they were fine.

Havent eaten a single thing so far today because I dont know what to have for breakfast- I certainly couldnt eat eggs or meat or fish for breakfast and apparently I cant eat the muller either!

Not good!

Not eating won't help.

Read the book, plan your menus, ask questions, shop accordingly and try again.

The only way to succeed on Dukan is to be prepared.

Or if it's not for you good luck with something else.

You do need to eat plenty of protein in order for the diet to work. It may be worth giving the book another read and maybe preparing by buying in Dukan-friendly food before trying a re-start.

Are you a vegetarian who also doesn't eat eggs? In that case, the diet is still possible, but much more difficult.

You can eat toffee and vanilla Mullerlight yoghurts (maximum of 2 per day as they are large and no ideal). There's also Weight Watchers toffee, vanilla and citrus yoghurts. Many people eat plain yoghurt and sweeten it with sweetener.

Oatbran can be stirred into yoghurt for breakfast, as well as made into porridge with skimmed milk and sweetener.

If you're not a vegetarian, then many people do eat eggs for breakfast - poached, scrambled, omelettes, as well as galettes (sweetened or plain with something else). Instead of bacon, you could have turkey rashers.

There's plenty to eat, but it is vitally important to be prepared if you want to succeed with Dukan and achieve those great weight loss results.

If you're really struggling with coming to terms with eating in a Dukan-friendly way, it may be worth checking out other diets, as jaqys says.

Lovely post DD...

In attack, Muller lites (toffee and vanilla) are fine... just not the fancy ones!

It's true that I am not a fan of proteiny breakfasts, and struggle on Fridays when I need my oatbran muffins for the car journey in the evening (I can just about manage a boiled egg and some turkey I marinate overnight and dry fry up).

When can you get to the shops for the oatbran?

Thank you both for your replies.

I am not vegetarian but I don't eat much meat, well I do eat lots of chicken!Just not in the morning!!

I have always hated eggs and just detest the texture so I couldnt eat one on its own.

I am going to Sainsburys now in search of oatbran. If they dont have it, there is nowhere else near me that I can try today. I really hope I get it- that ought to help!

fingers crossed!

Got the oatbran! Things are on the up! Just made the worlds worst galette but made myself eat it regardless. Find it difficult to eat since its an eggy consistency but maybe Im making it wrong! Today I have eaten one chicken breast and one galette. Gonna have salmon for tea and no yoghurt. Have been drinking lots also. If there isnt a loss on the scales tomorrow I despair!

I'm not that much of a meat fan either, I must admit. I've eaten a lot more of the stuff on this diet than in the past. Believe me, though, the results can be well worth it! :)

It sounds as though you'd be okay to eat eggs "disguised" with something else, in that case. So give galettes a try when you get your oatbran, and also try out Jo's (Maintainer's) muffin recipe in the Recipes section. You won't have an eggy texture, but will still be getting protein.

With any lucky, Sainsburys should stock Mornflake oatbran. Otherwise, most health food shops do. I think Holland & Barratt stock their own brand of oatbran.

Whilst you're searching for your oatbran, also have a look out for wheat bran (Jordan's is available in most supermarkets and health food shops) - although it's not really for Attack, you can use it every now and again from Cruise onwards, but only a maximum of 1 tbsp per day. It's helpful for adding a little bulk to things like muffins and homemade burgers.

Speaking of meat, I actually find minced meat nicer to eat than normal meat. I wonder whether you might, too, especially since neither of us is really enthusiastic about meat normally? It's really good when made into burgers, meatloaf or frittata (the frittata doesn't have much of an eggy texture as it's mostly mince). Again, there are recipes in the Recipes section for most of these. You can even make them in bulk and freeze for use later (slice the meatloaf and frittata and divide into portions first).

Once you have your oatbran and some suitable yoghurts, then you should be able to have a nice, decent, non-eggy or meaty breakfast. :)

You'll get there, I'm sure, and I bet you'll be glad you persevered when you have a slimmer, healthier you!

We must have cross-posted!

The galette should taste a bit like a pancake - maybe a little bit eggy, but not too much, hopefully. Do you think you'd find it more palatable using only egg whites rather than yolks?

Definitely make sure you eat plenty as that's very important. As long as you do, the weight should come off your fat reserves and leave you with nice lean muscle tissue. :)

It didnt really taste like pancake, more like what I imagine dry fried egg would taste like, but I can tolerate it for the better good!

I will try to eat more and see what happens. Thank you for the kind advice!

My gallettes are really awful too. So I started making batches of muffins instead. I make enough in one go for 4 days and keep them in a container in the fridge. I have them for breakfast as I am usually too rushed to make anything.

muffins are a good idea and you can make dukan bread ...
\looking at your food today for your stats you are not eating enough ..... your body will fight you all the way and lock in to starvation mode thus stall any weight loss

It will probably taste more pancake-y once you are in cruise, and using that extra 1/2 tblspoon of bran.

It took nearly a month for me to get mine right - now I wake up in the morning already salivating at the thought of a nice hot sweet pancake, with fresh lemon, and a cup of coffee to start the day

ok thanks Scrumper- will try and eat more for dinner and will have yog and oatbran for breakfast tomorrow :)

Sounds like you're really getting onto the right track now, senorita. Hopefully, you'll soon start to see a difference when you step on the scales. Keeping my fingers crossed for you! :)

Ah you need to invest in some nice new electronic scales.
