i am not sure if anybody can help me?
i sprained my ankle 8 days ago jogging ( i had JUST started the c25k) how long should i wait before i run again?
I am not fully fit yet and still wearing an ankle support, and stairs are a bit of a problem, but i am going insane not exercising... Or does anybody have any ideas of exercises which will aid my ankle recovery.
Thanks

to let your ankle heal properly you need to wait 4-6 weeks before running on it, if you go any sooner you'll just keep re injuring it.
Need to just do gentle exercises on it for a couple of weeks, no high impact/running,

Sorry

Yes, you definitely need to rest - exercising when it's not ready could lead to serious long term damage.

When it does start to feel like it's getting better, try something non-weight bearing like cycling - and be really really careful!

I sprained me ankle 13 days ago, I rested for one week using ice and a support, this week I have started swimming and it feels so much better. I also hold my good leg up and balance on my bad ankle when brushing my teeth as this is supposed to strengthen the ankle again to avoid a re sprain. when i sit on the sofa I raise my leg off the floor a bit and write the alphabet in the air to start to increase the range of movement in my ankle.
my ankle seems to feel no different each day but it must be as im pain free today.

I found walking downstairs the worst at first but even that was ok today. I am hoping to try my bodystep class on thursday as I think a few more days swimming etc wont hurt.
