Wholemeal bread

I am getting mixed up as to what I can have as HeB on EE as one thing says 57g and other says 2 slices of a 400gram pack but I can't see what difference the size of the whole loaf is, I use 2 slices of medium slice wholemeal bread by Roberts, is this ok?

It's 2 slices from a 400g 1/2 size loaf or 1.5 slices from a regular 800g loaf. Weigh out your bread and have 57g. :)

Thanks for this, I was just wondering the same thing :)

I weighed 2 slices and they weigh 85g so need to syn 28g worth which is 3 syns!! I also don't really know the difference between brown & wholemeal bread!? Only wholemeal is hex so I picked that anyway!

Brown bread is just the same as white nutritionally except the flour has not been bleached. That is why it does not count as a HEB - not enough fibre, while wholemeal is made with the whole grain which makes it higher in fibre.

Thanks Circes!

I've just bought hovis WHOLEMEAL granary bread? Can I use this as a healthy extra I know you're not supposed to have granary bread but this is wholemeal granary bread....??
