In Ketosis - Assuming this is okay/good?

I've read on here that Dukan's goal is not to get the body in Ketosis (though the book is a bit confusing to that respect). Well, I checked again today and I'm most definitely and firmly in Ketosis (nice rouge colour :))!

I can't see this hurting at all, so I'm taking it as a positive. It will also help keep me on the straight as I sure don't want to have to go thru the last two weeks again with the icky flu-like symptoms!

It's a very light form of ketosis, if you're eating the oatbran (and the wheatbran... if you are). The level of veg we eat also adds to the overall carb, albeit only every other day.

If you're curious, check out www.myfitnesspal.com and input your food. I come out at about 40g carb per day on PP days, and 65g ish on a PV day in Cruise with wheatbran. (Atkins is 20g on Induction which many stay on for ages of course.)

Be sure to drink plenty of water, mind. Your kidneys need it!

Thanks Joanne! Yes, def doing 2xtbsp of Oatbran every day (no wheatbran tho) and drink loads of water as I work out a few times a week as well (only did Yoga this a.m. so thought it would be a good chance to test as I didn't drink loads and I was correct :) )

I'm just not really eating loads of anything just now as I seem to forget food which is great! I try and eat about 5-6x a day, but small snacks and then have at least 2 of those be a proper meal.

Checking out the link now - thanks so much!

Hello, Just thought I'd say I've just used the link and registered with myfitnesspal. I'm really impressed! Entered my food for today and was surprised to see my calories were lower than I thought and my carbs much higher!

Remember though - it's NOT about calories. This is a low fat high protein diet...

Do you post your menus in the daily menu thread? If not, please start and we'll let you know if you're not eating enough PURE PROTEIN for your height and current weight.

Is that for all of us? I'm not using the daily menus/diaries threads at all (though I do look at them constantly!) I just don't want to become obsessed about what I put in my mouth - it seems the more I think about and record food stuff, the more I eat or want. That's why I like this diet - you really don't have to "count" anything... not calories, carbs, or points!

Not sure... have been thinking about adding an entry on the diary thread, but I don't think I have anything that interesting to say. Ha!!

Oh yes absolutely. If you're losing weight well, and don't want to post menus, fine. (Although we could benefit perhaps from seeing YOUR recipes and ideas!). When, however, people then come and say "help, I'm not losing weight very fast", it's hard to help if we've not seen what they're doing...

I've already seen errors around the board from new people, which could so easily be alleviated if menus were posted in advance when new people are unsure (particularly if they don't realise they are unsure!!!).

Your last sentence assures me that you DO have some interesting stuff to say!! Open a diary! You know you want to ;)

YAY!!

Until I met Vicky on here (currently on holiday, but usually around and about here, even though she's defected back to Atkins), I'd never have thought of marinading to get flavour except for the odd BBQ... we've been experimenting with goji berries, tofu, konjac noodles, you name it. All because we saw someone else having fun with them. We've even had beetroot oatbran muffins!

So play nicely and share... ;)
