Hi,

Anyone got any good advice for achey muscles. I'm currentlyl doing P90 x and my legs feel like lead, I do the cooldowns and warmups then a hot bath but still the next day, and the day after its like ....yeeoouch. I used to go to the gym fairly regularly and we've got a treadmill and would do up to 6.5 k and never experienced achey muscles then

Dont know if theres any easy answer but suggestions welcome

the only thing i can reccomend is a hot bath, i get muscle ache from execise and some days its that bad its a struggle to walk up stairs!
do you have a "cool down" stretch afterwards? this helps me alot, if i ache in the morning i have a proper stretch routine to reduce it

edit: youve tried this already!

your body will get used to the feeling, the ache wont last forever :)

Hi Gina

Thanks, on second week of P90X- massive difference thankfully with the achy muscle scenario! Also noticed that recovery drinks do kinda work ( i thought they were a con )

its weights that make me get the bad aches, and circuits. circuits left me aching for 3 days >.<

Thats brill, thanks ever so much Hannata & Lucky7.

Theres quite a bit of branding products that go with P90X; such as 'recovery drinks' and Shakeology and stuff, its really gimicky that way. I've found loads of alternatives and am doing my own thing lo-carbing which seems to have helped with the muscle fatigue - thank the lord - getting up & down the stairs was proving a bit of problem when I first started the programme

(Although I have my suspicions that removing el pinko vino has proven the most effective weight reducing element ;))

hahaha yeah low carb and high protein is the best bet. Although I like a dose of carbs&protein before I exercise (like a small portion of chicken and pasta maybe) then taking the shake after.

Its keeping the balance of calories too, the shakes can be high in calories so shop around. The Maxitone Definity ones are at a good price, you can get them in boots for like £15, and they are lower in calories for weightloss in mind :)

Good luck with it xx
