Wedding tips...

I'm going to a wedding tomorrow (not that one!) and need some advice. I'm a bit scared as I had a gain last week, I'm going for a run early doors so as to keep myself motivated but I am a bit of a boozehound so I'm worried.

Has anyone got any tips for free bar and lovely food survival please?

If it were me I would go for your run in the morning, Then get ready and go to the wedding and enjoy the food and the booze but be organised with food for Saturday so that it is JUST the wedding and not a couple of day after and still not being very good.

If you make sure your fridge is full of free goodies already made it will make it easier to be good when you are hung over.

Hope that helps a bit and enjoy your self.

Spirits & diet mixers instead wine. Fill up on salad and cold cuts.
I have one i'm going to in July and have already decided its a flexi syn day tbh.

Ok, you're right. I will just enjoy it and try to do my best where I can. I can stay away from wine but can't say no to champagne!

Thanks for the advice guys, will be super good on Saturday to compensate. Going to a family bbq that day so should be easy to do red friendly choices and my lot don't drink which is handy.

I feel a wee bit sorry for those who are getting married tomorrow, especially if the ceremony is at the same time as Will & Kate's! Everyone deserves a load of pomp and ceremony on their big day, not just the royals!

As others have already said, enjoy yourself but don't go overboard. have a flexi syn day then get right back on it the next day. Stick to spirits with diet mixers, I too am a bit of a booze hound when I want to be, but I find that I don't get too drunk on spirits. I think it's because they're a bit sickly for my liking.

If it's a buffet, try cold cuts and salads, avoid pastries. If it's a sit down dinner then don't be afraid to ask for exactly what you want, I'm sure the bride and groom are paying a lot of money for the shindig so I'm betting they want their guests to be satisfied customers.

And most important tip of all, have fun!

Yeah, me too. They had the date booked ages ago and then Wills and Kate made their announcement - on the plus side, it doesn't cut into anyone's annual leave!. The wedding isn't until the afternoon though so at least that's something. Its a sit down dinner so I can do the whole 'sauce on the side and no butter business' - so obvious but I didn't even consider being fussy - you're right! p.s. really scary username!
