Yesterday we stopped off at a pub for a drink, hubby ordered me a diet coke after i took a drink i asked if he had remembered diet as it tasted very sweet, he confirmed but i was still unsure so asked the barmaid who snottily said yes it was diet, the next one tasted totally different so i was more confused!

Today i feel awful i am starving hungry and really light headed don't have any sticks to test but i know i have came out of ketosis :(

i am so furious as i had a pp day and apart from my usual chicken, eggs etc i had nothing wrong so could only be that drink I:(

Hi Susie - don't be so hard and down on yourself!! You're already more than 2 weeks in and one slip-up at this point is not going to get you out of ketosis (I HAVE read that somewhere :)).

Please don't let it mess with your head or cause you to make lapses because you think you've already messed things up.

I'm sure all will be fine as long as you keep along with the programme and stay away from regular coke ;)! Keep up the great work - you're doing so well that I'm hoping to follow right behind in your footsteps and with the same success!

I'd be pretty annoyed with the barmaid, too, but don't worry too much about it. Maybe drink a bit more water to get it out of your system. Hopefully, it won't affect you too badly.

You're been trying so hard as well. Such a shame when things happen, despite our best efforts.

Just pass over the mistake and carry on. This diet is not meant to put you into ketosis. There are about 16 carbs in the oatbran alone. Doc D says we are not to count carbs, calories or try for ketosis.

Really Loraine? Sorry if I mis-spoke! I thought we were to try for ketosis, but you're right about the oat bran... hadn't thought of that. I had been coached until yesterday and cancelled due to bad service, so ordered the book immediately. Should probably keep mum until I read it!! Sorry Susie for any misinformation!

Now found the Dukan Diet section. Can I say to those new to the diet, eat as much as you can on the attack days which is pure protein. You are not meant to starve yourself, count calories, go into ketosis, or worry about the odd coke which may or may not be diet. I had 3 days attack at the start and lost 5 lbs which I was really pleased with. Weight loss since has been slow but steady due to steroid injections which I have said elsewhere on the site. I am never hungry even on the cruise phase which I am on now and will stay on until I reach my target weight. I recommend getting the recipe book (Amazon do good deals), which is very helpful and useful with some good recipes. Never did get to grips with the Dukan Galette though! So use the oat bran to make porridge. Good luck to everyone. As we say in Norfolk, keep a troshing. DottiePH:)

hi hun ...dont fret over one coke drink some water and you will soon recover ...
no drd does not mention Ket, but as most of us know that is where we go lightly maybe, but in ket ...or them sticks ive been peeing on for the last 8 months can go back to the chemist !!!

dukan has changed this diet to suit the masses over time like all diets evolve you just need to see what strictness of it you want to follow
