Milk....

Does anyone else sacrifice one of their daily snacks for milk in tea and coffee as well?

I drink about 5/6 cups of tea during the day at work with semi skimmed milk instead of skimmed so figure this is proably one of my snacks.

I don't drink tea very often, and never drink coffee, but I didn't think there would be that many calories in the milk in your tea, but I guess it will add up throughout the day if you're having 5/6 cups. Do you use MyFitnessPal? You add everything you eat into a food diary and it works out all the calories for you, so maybe you could try that to see if the tea/coffee adds up to 100 calories?

hiya,

yeah i use myfitnesspal - but due to me not making all the tea i drink i don't get to measure out the milk portions. But i assume that it's additional calories that i need to account for somewhere! - i'll find out tomorrow in my weigh in if it works i guess!!

Hi love
Howz it goin?
I use myfitnesspal it's great for keeping a check on everything isn't it!
I just had a thought I don't include my milk in my hot drinks in it, just use it for weight record n breakfast -shake, lunch - shake, dinner, snacks n water n my exercise. Wonder if I shud start adding some extra milk in?

I guess it depends on how much tea/coffee you drink. It'd probably be a shining example of dedication if you measured the milk you put in your tea lol. I doubt I'd do it if I drank tea, but if you drink a lot of it, it will add up throughout the day. I guess you wouldn't have to measure it every time if you put the same amount in each time, so maybe measure it once and work out the calories for it, then remember how many cups you've had and add it in to your MFP diary?

I think I have never bothered cos I only have about 5-6 cups of tea a day n I don't have much milk so I have never worried before, I will c

It's always best to record absolutely everything we consume, so I'd recommend adding it in :)

Thanks all - i think i'm going to keep deducting the milk as one of my 100 cal snacks per day - I do drink tea/coffee in order to stop me snacking so it is sorta one of them!!
