Thinking of starting Dukan

After researching this diet on the web and reading the amazon reviews, and having been on most of the diets out there, this seems like one that's definately worth trying!

I had good results on Atkins before but soon felt sick from all the bacon, butter and cheese..plus the worst part of that diet for me was that I couldn't have milk in my tea. Big plus point for Dukan, I love my tea :) Once i've done a big shop i'm going to aim to start on friday, going to have a barbeque at the weekend so i'll get the steak and chicken stocked up!

I'm just about to buy the book on ibooks and read up on it over the next few days, i'll be trawling this forum too for ideas. Hopefully i'll be posting updates soon :)

Hello!

I'd definately recommend the diet. I've been on it for two weeks (started my third week today) and i'm enjoying it so far. Have lost 10lbs I'm soo happy! The attack phase is difficult initially and during the first few days u feel a bit tired but since then I've had so much more energy and really enjoyed trying out new recipe ideas. It's so good to feel your clothes bigger on u and it's easy to follow. The plus side is you don't feel like your on a diet because u can make really delicious food which is totally fine to eat!

I really hope u like it. Once you can start having veg again it becomes so much easier! And the best part is u can eat normally again eventually without puttin the weight back on! My dad is doing that at the minute and he is maintaining his weight. Good luck!! :) x

Hi and welcome Sapphire!

I have to say that I quite like the Dukan diet... I don't like eating fatty foods and full-fat dairy, so this works really well for me. I haven't had any huge difficulty with the exception of the lack of cheese. I could live without sweets, but I could mac & cheese every day! But other than that - I'm on day 9 and feeling fine (about the diet that is... sick at the moment, I'm afraid).
Best of luck to you and interested in hearing how you get on after going through the book!

Hi Sapphire,

sounds like you're well organised - do wait for the book and make sure you read at least the first few chapters including on Attack and Cruise. Plan when you will start and do a good shop beforehand - especially the oatrbran can be hard to find though it is available in Tescos. Oatran is not the same as porridge oats though!

Plan the timing of your attack - I made sure I had no social engagements etc coming up that might have been tricky in the food department. You don't have to start on a Monday either - I started on a Tue, did 4 days attack and was then able to have Veg again at the weekend which makes family life a bit easier!

Good luck and let us know how you get on, plenty of people in the forum are always happy to help if you have questions.
