I was wondering if there is anybody here that switched from weight watchers and if so how they found/are finding it?

I have been doing weight watchers since January and as from Thursday I switched to Slimming World.

I am nervous/aprehensive and dont want to put weight on so I wondered what everbody elses thoughts were?

Hi and welcome. I have done both diets and would never go back to ww. Sw is so much better. Make sure u read through ur books. What plan will u be following?

Hi there

I did WW for years -this is my first attempt at SW and I LOVE IT-you couldn't get me off it for all the tea in China ;).... the best thing to do is to just follow the plan and ignore any WW voice in your head ;). Hopefully your first weigh in will convince you that SW works :D

Hi Lisa,
I have not actually joined up with SW yet as i wanted to see how it went - i said i would give myself 2 weeks and if i am losing weight and enjoying the plan I will go join at my local class.

At the moment I have SW info from the internet - I have mostly been doing green days so far as i am very aprehensive about EE.
I know it works for everybody else but I am very worried i will do it wrong and not eat enough sf foods and put weight on!!
xx

Thanks Capricorn - I hope it works!!
The worst part is that this weekend and next i am busier than i have been for the last 4 months!! So lots of BBQ and alcohol so i may give it a little longer that 2 weeks!

Have you continued to lose weight like weight watchers?
What benefits do you feel with SW? Sorry if it feels like question time! Lol!

Hiya-ask away :D -with WW my losses were sometimes higher BUT I found I would get a good loss then a gain or a sts etc... and I was never as consistant- never got as much weight off as I have on SW. 2 weeks ago I celebrated my 1year anniversary with SW and Im now 9st 1.5lb lighter and just over 3st away from target :bliss: -the time has flown too ;)
I have lost every week -never a sts or a gain although I have never strayed from the plan... I have no need to as I love the way I can eat now :happy036:

I love to cook -so on SW I find it much easier as anything that is FREE on a particular plan can be thrown together to make a dish suitable for each plan(suits my way of cooking)-with WW I found I had to weigh specific amounts to keep within syns (although I have never tried the new plan so Im not sure how it differs)
When I first decided to try SW I was scared too as the thought of "free" was quite scary, but I just decided to give it chance.
One thing I did decide from the start was that when it says free -it means I can each as much as I NEED not as much as I WANT -as these are very different things to me :p and now I have my portions completely under control.

I hope you find that it works for you :D

Wow - your weight loss is amazing!! Well done!!
Since ive been on here i have seen so many amazing weight loss's - it is definately motivating!
Do you drink any alcohol? Im not a big drinker - but i think this will be my downfall on some weekends!
This weekend I had a BBQ so drank and ate quite alot so i am now trying not to have any syns at all.

I love to cook also - although I dont always find the time.
I do like the odd takeaway but i have always cooked from scratch and barely use packet sauces etc.

Yes free is very scary - I am finding that as well - I will have to keep this in check!

Youll find there are LOADS of people have gone from WW to SW and just as many from SW to WW

Both work incredibly well, its really down to what one suits your own circumstances and lifestyle best.

Best of luck with SW :)

For me S W is definately the best! Never feel hungry and although I am very fussy because there are three plans to follow there is always something I like! Good luck, you will be surprised at how much you can eat and still lose loads!

Hello

I've gone from WW to SW - and find it far easier (altho I still have to get my head right round EE!!), and that I am eating much healthier foods - it was easy to take the simple option and buy the WW ready meals, but I felt sluggish and my skin broke out because I was eating too many processed foods.

I lost weight easily with it, but I look far healthier and my skin is much better on SW, and other than this bad week I am having, I am enjoying it, finding it easy to stick with and tasty tasty tasty!!

Good Luck!

Im a former weight watcher. It worked for me at the time but now ive chosen sw as it suits me better.
Both diets work if you stick to them. How well you stick to it depends on what you want out of a diet iykwim.

One thing i will say is that having always had to count on ww there is a temptation on sw to eat all day cos food is 'free'. I try to stick to three meals and snacking if hungry. It takes a while to learn to eat only when your hungry.

Yeah, at first I though 'free' foods yay! But after being on here I've realised it's not really free!!
I haven't done EE yet as I'm scared of doin it wrong and I seem to always be hungry on red days so I think green days will be good for me-I always eat veg and salad with carbs so I hope it will be ok! X

I think you will do just fine!! Tbh when i did ww i usually ate very similar to green days - lots of pasta and jacket potatoes. I did it on the old points when red meat was relatively high in points so would usually only eat chicken and fish.
