Buddy Up!!

Hello everyone,

I have read a few stories about how people have been successful at losing their weight when they have had someone doing it alongside them.

I was wondering if there was anyone out there, perhaps a newbie or someone who is at a loose end...that would like to buddy up with me. This will entail things like, talking regularly, spuring eachother on, sharing tips and tricks.
I think this would really help me, as I have no one that can help me through this. all of my friends are really skinny or not interested so an online buddy would be even better.

I would be very very grateful to whoever offers this.

About me:
I'm 22, 5 ft tall and weigh in at 12 stone 6lb. I am a size 16 in clothes and want to be a size 12. I need to lose about 3 stone.
I am willing to try anything to help lose weight. just seriously lack motivation.

So come on guys, who's up for it?

:)

Hi Jo
i'm in my 2nd week of slimming world, due my 2nd weigh in tomorrow night. Your stats are very similar to mine, 5ft tall starting weight of 12st 13 but i'm nearly 10 years older :/
I know what you mean about all your friends being skinny, its soul destroying sometime isn't it?
Anyway i lost 6.5lbs at my first weigh in and i've been 100% on plan this week so i'm hoping for another loss tomorrow.
i'm a total junk food-a-holic so we can try and keep each other on plan if you'd like?
good luck
Sian

Awww brilliant, yeah that would be amazing. My problem is, I cant afford any weight plans like weight watchers or slimming world. I would however benefit from any tips they provide or recipes they give. Im not much of a cooker which has sort of lead to the situation I am in at the moment, so any easy low fat recipes you might have are very needed here lol.
Well done on your 6.5lb loss. I dont think ive ever lost that much in any time. I tend to give up and give in the temptation.
My first challenge I am setting myself will be to not give in to convenience food. MAKE A PACKED LUNCH DAMNIT lol :)

well i was on some shakes called avidlite which was costing me about £30 a week plus food for the rest of the family, i got down to 9st but it was the most depressed i've ever been so i want to try and enjoy the right foods and get a little bit healthier!
the packed lunch thing is a good plan, when i go to work i take the food i need and try and leave my money (or as much as possible) then i'm not tempted to nip into mcdonalds, shop for sweets etc.
i have to admit though i am the convenience foods queen, more a case of can't cook won't cook!
i have weetabix or fruit for breakfast, fruit or weight watchers yogurt for snacks, pasta for dinner and a weight watchers frozen meal at night.
did you have any plan in mind for losing weight?

Well, I a massive fan of salad but as it takes preparation, I can never be bothered, so I am going to make a point of buying lots of salad, and forcing myself to prepare it. I am also going to use my wii fit more since I paid a load for it, but never use it lol. At the moment i dont really have any plan, which is what i desperately need. Im usually extremely organised but when it comes to weight loss, i cant seem to make head nor tail of it.
I was sort of planning to just take the days as they come but that has never worked for me in the past. I have failed at weight loss so many times that people are just sick of hearing when im trying anymore. I need to get the motivation and keep it...but it feels impossible.

I hope you don't mind me being nosey but for me planning is key.. I print off a chart to fill in and put on the fridge! That way I know what I'm having where. Also with regards to the salad buy it all, and some air tight containers.. Then when you get home prepare it all, put it in the containers and pop it in the fridge then it's ready to go when ever you want it!! Good luck xx

well i have said a million times in the past i'm doing some kind of diet so now everyone just says "yeah yeah".
i used to try diets on my own but i feel i need someone to answer to at the end of the week so i think £4.95 a week is a small price to pay to keep me on the straight and narrow

Well, if you are willing to help, then I assure you, I will do it this time.
I have always needed someone to answer to when i dont stick to it. My boyfriend is useless at telling me off lol.

So anyway, My name is Jo :)

This is a great idea, I used to use a little booklet to note down what ive eaten etc but for some reason I stopped doing it even tho it was a great help. I might start doing that again. the containers is a brilliant idea, when i have the motivation to make some, it will benefit me for when I havent. Brilliant. thank you so much xxxx

That's okay! Good Luck in your journey! I'm sure you will get there! xxx

Well I'm 2 days in and I'm doing better than expected. I've bought a few books for counting carbs and.different diets, downloaded the minimins app so I can keep in touch on the move. Getting a bike soon so no more buses. Still feeling enthusiastic :)

Well 4 days in and I'm still loving it. I took a sneaky curious keigh in this morning and I'm 4lb lighter already. I'm so excited and I've also bought a beautiful puppy today so a brilliant week so far x x x

I wish i had someone to do sw with me! My friend used to go then she left. My MIL went but left so now I just try on my own :(
