Ok guys. I have an interview for my dream job tomorrow!!! I usually wear a suit for interviews but think it might be a bit boring and predictable, also I notice from the other side of the table that very few candidates wear suits these days. It's a director-level role. I was thinking shift dress and jacket. Any thoughts?!

I think dress and jacket can look lovely or a skirt and shirt? I think the most important thing is to wear something that makes you feel good and something you are comfortable in. I can't relax unless I feel comfortable. I very rarely wear them as I'm so tall but when I do heels make me feel like I can conquer the world!! Beat of luck and I'll be keeping everything crossed for you xxx

Dress and jacket, perfect. Conventional, but with a little "je ne sais quoi" if you can.
I agree you should feel comfortable, but not frumpy.
I'm sure you don't really need our advice Spangly. What have you got to choose from?
Fingers crossed for you. xx :fingerscrossed:

:D went shopping :D

Got a lovely colour-block linen shift dress from Fenn Wright Manson and some chunky suede heels in the russet brown colour from the dress (the dress is brown, cream and black). Will wear it with a little black cardigan and my very smart tailored coat.

Will probably regret posting re it if it turns out to be a disappointment but I'm so excited. Wish me luck!

Now would not be a good time to get streaks in my fake tan on my legs .

That sounds stunning ... knock em dead x

Hubby vetoed outfit as 'too casual' and 'not power dressing enough' so now will be wearing black suit with silk blouse. Well, I guess I got a new dress and shoes out of it lol...

good luck hope it goes well x
