Setting your target weight?

Hi all! Hope you're having a fab Easter weekend :)

Just wondering, how did you all decide on a target weight? Was it looking at BMI or something different?

I've set mine at 10 stone but I'm thinking of moving it to 9 or 9 and a half.

I've never been lower than a size 14 in my adult life so I don't even know what I'd look like at that weight!!! So it's quite hard to set a target.

Can anyone help? If it helps I'm 5ft 4, currently 12st 12 and a size 14.

Hey..

Well initially I looked at my BMI and being 5'7" I should be between 9.5stone to 11.5 (approx) stone so I want to middle of the road so aiming for 10 to 10.5 (one day lol). Also im same height as sister (well tiny bit taller) and thats her weight and she looks great at it...

i'm same high as you hun and almost the same weight. but everyone is different people all carry weight differently. my target is 9.7 but not sure if i will go that far see how i feel as i go down.
i think its best just to see where you feel best when u get there.

It's difficult. I felt that if I set it too high, I'd feel like I'd not 'got to the end', even though I had, and if I set it too low I'd never maintain it. I set mine at 10st, but got down to about 9.5 stone (at one point I was 9st 3lb, but I had just gone off work with stress, so I think that I was actually a bit low then). People tell me now it was too low, but I don't want to aim too high, as again I'll feel I didn't finish my journey.

A thing that I was thinking is - do you set your target weight to the CDC scale, or to your home scale - how do you know which is accurate. I know at LL there was a 5lb difference, which is a heck of a lot when you are nearing on skinny!!

Thanks everyone. I think I might set it at 9st 7!!! I go by my CDC's scales as my official weight but my own scales are near enough the same if I weigh myself at the same time.

I didn't even think I'd make it anywhere near to 10 stone when I first started but I'm slowly getting there! So if it's now going to be 9 and a half stone I've got 3 stone 5lb to go. Almost halfway now!!!!!!!!
