Atkins By The Book

I am currently reading DANDR and starting fully tomorrow (Fri). I have never read the full book before, I bought atkins essentials from bargain books a few years ago which was a short condensed version and now that I am reading DANDR i am enjoying it. I have also never followed the rules before(with anything lol) so I am gonna do it by the book, 20g carbs or under a day (was tempted to stick to 40g a day) but no for once in my life I am gonna play by the rules.:cool:
 
Fri 23rd April. 9:35am

I am just logging my breakfast and meds.

My Blood glucose is 9.6
10 kingsize prawns 0.5g approx
1 slice mature cheddar ?
3 slices ham ?
1 black coffee, decaf no milk no sweetener


After breakfast I took 1.8mg Victoza and one 500mg metformin followed by a satchet of Fybogel Mebeverine and now sipping a pint of plain water.

Gonna have to figure out carb count in the cheese and ham. ETA: I put my food into MFP and according to it my breakkie totalled 1g carbs. I am unsure of weights and know 100g of a food isn't much. Gonna look for little weighing scale next time I'm in Asda.

Thanks Katie. I am starting part two today which is about the food, I enjoyed the sciency part, helps me see I am doing the right thing. I must say I never thought I could drink coffee without a sweetener but it's fine. There's hermasetas lurking in a cupboard but I haven't the patience to look for it lol.
 
I was a bit peckish at 11.45 so I had 2 tsp of PB (Whole Earth) and a third tsp five mins ago. Am drinking a third decaf coffee with 2 tsps double cream. Have lunch soon. It'll be more cheeseburger pie and cup of green salad.
