Vision Board

Bit of "new age" stuff for ya! Did a vision board workshop on Sunday last - interesting stuff. Talking about envisioning your life as you want it. First thing I did was weight/body image/confidence. I kinda started changing things when I chose the name curvesncurls when I joined here, was determined to see myself as curvy, rather than fat. And with a few bumps on the road, I've managed to change my view of myself hugely - so much so, that others have commented on it.
Sooooooo, I put together a vision board with my weight loss goals, loads of positive words and imagery, pics of JLo and Kim Khardasian (sp?), a target member sticker, the dress size I intend to be and my target weight. Feels great to look at, really focuses me.
I'll try and put up a pic, see what people think!

wow that is a great idea. i think that would benefit me hugely too. ive been feeling down the last few days about my weight even though ive lost 2st 4.5 lbs with 3.5 down at tuesday nights weigh in, its so annoying as i dont even know why im feeling like this!!
i think making my own vision board would really help!
Thanks for the idea :) xxxxxxxxx

This is a great idea, I love that whole visual positve reminder stuff! I did something similar in work years and years ago called a dream board and I cut out a picture of a house in a forest and a big black dog - forward 10 years and I have a house that backs onto the woods (albeit a terraced house, not the detached cabin in my pic!!!) and a gorgeous black germa shepherd! So I definately believe it helps and am so going to do a weight loss one!!! Thanks for the idea x

Yeah, it's really motivating me. I've tried to post the healthy eating section - I've a few other parts too!

My God Aisling, it's no wonder you feel down with all you've been through in the last while. It's stuff you've no control over, but we always seem to revert back to being down about weight when we can't control the other stuff, don't we? With a name like Aisling, it'd have to be a "dream" board, wouldn't it?

Goes to show the power of them, doesn't it, cherry? Scary and exciting at the same time!!

you really struck a chord there, its so true i cant control anything else thats been going on so ive gone back to being down on myself! will u be my therapist :p haha
aisling means vision or dream! maybe we should call it the aisling board altogether

Yeah, im Irish too, so couldn't get over the meaning of the name. There's a sign for you hun! Read your posts about your poor hubby and all that's going on, my heart was breaking for you both. It's obvious you really love each other. Hoping for some of that myself some day soon (you can see my recent "luck" with guys in previous posts.) I'm still kinda down about it, but now I'm so pleased that I can see it's not weight related or really anything to do with me, which is HUGE progress for me. So hopefully Mr Right is getting his ass in gear and making the most of 2 Bank Hol weekends to meet a nice curvy woman!
So dunno how good the therapy would be, but isn't it lovely to be able to share with people who understand and will say it out straight? Weight is such a complicated bugger, having others insights has been fab. So email or post away Mrs!

yeah i think it must be a sign. listen hun dont worry im sure you'll meet the man of your dreams when u least expect it. it used to annoy me when people said that to me but i never expected to meet kadir when i did. i met him on the first night of my holiday, we got married after 8 months but ive never regretted it for a second its the best thing ive ever done!i married my soulmate :) are u going mad for the bank holiday wknd haha? u go girl!!!
